We must justify owners’ backing, says Blackburn Rovers boss
11:00am Saturday 18th August 2012 in Sport
STEVE Kean admits Blackburn Rovers must produce results this season to justify the summer investment made by owners Venky’s.
Despite calls from his fans for his removal as boss, Kean was backed with funds to strengthen his squad – bringing in the likes of Danny Murphy, Leon Best, Nuno Gomes, Dickson Etuhu and Colin Kazim-Richards.
The Scot says that he still has the support of the owners, insisting he does not feel that his position is under threat, but knows that Venky’s must be rewarded for their financial backing.
Kean said: “The owners deserve credit for investing so heavily because money is hard to come by because of the division we find ourselves in.
“We have to justify what they have done.
“There is no ‘I’ in team.
“It is us as a group and everyone at the football club has made massive steps in communicating from Ewood Park to the senior centre training.
“We feel that is very important. All the squad members, all the staff, all the directors, feel as though we have to deliver.”

What investment is that Keanochio? you must have been bottom of the class at maths because to the rest of us it looks like they've put FA in so far and have used player sales to fund purchases with money left over.
And you wonder why the fans refuse to come back till you have gone.
What an odd bloke you are.

• The only previous occasion these clubs have opened a league campaign against each other at Portman Road was 50 years ago. Ipswich were champions of England, and shared six goals with Blackburn in their first match in defence of their title in August 1962.
• Blackburn have a seven-match unbeaten league sequence against Ipswich (W3, D4).
• Ipswich last beat Rovers in the FA Cup in 1996, but have not defeated them in the league, since a 1-0 victory at Portman Road in the Premier League in November 1993.
Ipswich Town
• The longest residents in the Championship are commencing an 11th straight season at this level.
• Registered bottom-half finishes in each of the last three seasons.
• Trying to get a league campaign off on a winning note for the third season running.
Blackburn Rovers
• Rovers have returned to the second tier, after 11 seasons with the elite.
• They have more Premier League experience than any other club competing in the Championship this term (18 seasons).
• Not been beaten on the opening day of a second tier season for 22 years.

Personally I think Rhodes has forced this move to happen, which is what Kean was betting on when he went public with it first time.
Sources are saying that Greyson is furious with Rovers for upsetting their season plans, but if Rhodes wants to go, which it looks like he does.
My prediction? Rhodes will sign for us, have an amazing season and next year a PL club will do to the same to us and grab him, because clearly he's only going to use Rovers as a stepping stone to the big leagues.

Murphy is a very good player and he had an excellent season last year for Fulham. I am not sure how you can think he was not so 'hot' during last season?? He captained them to one of their highest ever prem finishes and played 43 games. In 2010 he captained them to the final of the Europa cup....the guy has toms of experience and is still fit and will make us a much better side this season.
Come on the Rovers...

On Saturday the iconic match of the day resumes on BBC1 TV. Heralding the start of the Premiership season. For the first time in 14 seasons Blackburn Rovers will not be a part of it. And nor for the foreseeable future should Steve (the man who cannot win football matches) Kean remain as manager.
The up side of not being in the premiership is that Kean is starved of the publicity he craves. No more will we have to endure his stories on life such as his guitar playing and Paul Weller impersonations or his informed conversations with his ‘Body Guard’ or his tough under privileged up bringing in Glasgow and so on and so on. Because nobody outside of Blackburn and district is now interested in Steve Kean or Blackburn Rovers, it is the price we have to pay for the loss of out Premiership status, although the silencing of Kean is a blessing.
So when Match Of The Day strikes up its familiar signature tune on Saturday evening think back to the good old days of John Williams, Tom Finn, Sam Allardyce, Mark Hughes, and Graeme Souness.
Whatever led us to this sorry state.

Perhaps Director and former Chairman Robert Coar could tell us, or is this man not fit for t purpose?

What is Myles Anderson, the son of Jerome (the man who ruined Blackburn Rovers) Anderson still doing at Ewood Park? Since joining on a premiership contract in December 2010, following Allardyce’s sacking, he has yet to ‘kick a ball’ in anger for the Rovers. Now he is going to Aldershot on a month’s loan, and I can guarantee it will be a month’s loan, manager Dean Houldsworth won’t be asking for an extension once he has seen Myles capabilities or lack of them.
Myles Anderson’s continued presence as a paid employee at Ewood Park is an indictment to the running of the club by Jerome Anderson and his client Steve Kean.
Heavy criticism last season for Myles continued presence, led to his name and squad number being taken from the match day program. All of a sudden Myles had disappeared. But he is still there, at a time when money for players and wages is scarce, so we are told. It is an absolute scandal.
It is a myth that Myles spent last season on loan at Aberdeen – he didn’t, his one appearance for Aberdeen came prior to his joining the Rovers pay roll. It was a two minute cameo as substitute. Manager Craig Brown having taken Myles on trial didn’t offer him a contact of any description.
As for him joining Rovers from Leyton Orient, he actually appeared for Orient’s under 19 side and went no further.
His addition to the Rovers pay roll was allegedly a favour from Kean to Anderson senior for landing Kean the Rovers managers’ job. Which Jerome (the man who ruined Blackburn Rovers) Anderson denies all knowledge of, as he has repeatedly said so in the national press and on Sky TV. There’s nothing wrong in doing your son a favour and helping him on in life. Why Jerome Anderson won’t say so leads to conspiracy theories. In all fairness Myles is an innocent party in all of this. Steve (the man who cannot win football matches) Kean refuses to comment. If Myles is a ‘Kean signing’ then he is a worst manager than I thought.
If Shebby Singh wants to get his teeth into cleaning up the mess that is Blackburn Rovers then he couldn’t have a better place to start than with the MYSTERY OF MYLES.

Blackburn Rovers and their owners Venky’s and manager Steve Kean got what they deserved when they got relegated in May according to former manager Sam Allardyce.
But the West Ham Boss (pic above) took no pleasure in seeing his old club Bolton also drop into the Championship.
The irony was not lost on Big Sam as the Hammers went up via the play off final and his former clubs went down.
He said “I have to say there wasn’t much feeling when Blackburn was relegated because of the way the owners treated me and the devious appointment of Steve Kean in my place. “Bolton is a different story because I left them and I only did that because of their lack of ambition. Everyone knows how much the club means to me and always will, so I was saddened by their relegation, I can’t say the same for Blackburn Rovers”.
I can understand Sam’s sentiments but it is a pity he didn’t voice his sympathy for what the Rovers supporters have had to endure.
On the other hand, apart from this website which heavily criticised the sacking of Allardyce there wasn’t much protest from Rovers fans on Allardyce’s departure.
Sometimes in life ‘you reap what you sow’ and the Rovers fans reaped Steve Kean!.
ENOUGH SAID.

I didn’t attend the meeting last Saturday. But I watched and listened in dumb found amazement on Sky Tv Sport News. I refer of course to the now infamous and regrettable Fans Forum at King Georges Hall addressed by Rovers new GLOBAL ADVISOR (whatever that means) SHEBBY SINGH.(pic above)
As everyone who follows my website knows I am not in any shape or form a Steve Kean fan, in fact I haven’t a good word for him, he has ruined my club, but this public attack by Shebby Singh was the most amazing thing I have ever witnessed in all my 50 plus years of following football. What was the man thinking??
Let me first of all establish that I generally agree with Shebby’s sentiments, but there is a way to go about things and a time and a place to say them. This very public platform was neither.
Shebby Singh flanked by members of the Blackburn Rovers action group gave the impression of the leaders of a Lynch Mob. This is not how we want Blackburn Rovers to be run. Once again we are the laughing stock of the football world as they look on in continued amazement, as this once proud old club sinks further into the mire.
Shebby Singh obviously wants rid of Kean, like we all do, but almost destroyed any hopes he has of achieving that objective.
If Kean didn’t know before he had an enemy he knows now. I pointed out the rift between Kean and Singh on this website two weeks ago when I posted article WHO IS THE MANAGER AT EOOD PARK on 1st August 2012.
But I never in my wildest dreams thought it would emerge so publically, so soon, without a ball even been kicked.
Shebby Singh has been brought into the club by Ventkatesh and Balaji Rao to rid them of Kean, they haven’t the bottle to do it themselves. They tried and failed in May but were firmly put in their place by sister Anuradha ( I like to be entertained) Desai. Now big sister has the perfect excuse to get rid of Shebby Singh and I have no doubt she will, I give him a month, at the most.
Steve Kean is a ‘wily old fox’, he has seen off most of his enemies within Ewood, deputy chief executive Paul Hunt, the fans Allie, being the latest. If you don’t have the cunning that Kean posses you don’t conspire successfully to rid the club of an established and proven Premier league manager like Allardyce, as Kean did.
You don’t survive the wishes of chairman John Williams and Chief executive Tom Finn, both who successfully guided Rovers for over 14 years, to have you sacked only to turn the tables and have them dismissed as Kean did. Shebby Singh is up against a clever and cunning man, Kean is seething and will now conspire to under mind Singh. I can see only one result as in the case of Paul Hunt, Singh will go, Kean will stay. It is apparent they both cannot stop at the club.
Blackburn Rovers action group should never have put Shebby Singh in this position. Shebby Singh on the other hand is to blame for his thoughtless comments and not keeping his own council and working quietly behind the scenes to rid the club of Kean.
Shebby Singh says “he was trying to bring the fans back closer to the club”. I think everyone knows that will only happen when Steve Kean departs. Until then Rovers have not got a prayer.
As to Singh’s comments regarding David Dunn and Morten Pederson having joined “the over the hill gang” perhaps he is right but I think there is a couple of seasons left in them and Shebby’s remarks were probably ‘tongue in cheek’.
As to the presence of the Sky TV cameras at the now infamous fans meeting what was that all about? Do Sky TV cover all fans forums throughout the country, I think not, this to me reeks of a SET UP. Unfortunately the only person to have been set up is Shebby Singh and as a result the fans could be losing yet again a close ally.
Reg.
Footnote:
Shebby Singh however has obviously got a sense of humour unlike Kean. And I couldn’t help but chuckle at his comment “I am often asked why Steve Kean was not sacked in May, my reply is I ask myself the same question every week”.

Shebby Singh says “ if Rovers lose their first 3 games under fire manager Steve Kean will be sacked. Singh has since withdraw that remark and apologised to Kean, but could Rovers lose their first three games- POSSIBLY.
Awaiting Rovers are Paul Jewel’s Ipswich Town, Steve Bruce’s (pic above) Hull City, and Tony Mowbray’s Middlesbrough. Three tough fixtures for a Rovers team in disarray.
They could lose all three, they could win all three.
My prediction 5 points from a possible 9 points.!
