TEAM NEWS: Port Vale v Burnley

MANAGER Eddie Howe has named a strong team to kick-off the season with the Capital One Cup round one tie at Port Vale.

Charlie Austin is the club's only recognised available striker, with Martin Paterson (Northern Ireland) and Sam Vokes (Wales) away on international duty and Danny Ings ruled out through injury.

He is expected to receive support in attack from wingers Ross Wallace and Junior Stanislas.

There are debuts for new captain Jason Shackell, left back Joseph Mills and newest signing Brian Stock.
Summer capture Luke O'Neill is named on a seven-man bench.
