Kean confirms Blackburn Rovers are close to Kazim-Richards signing

STEVE Kean has confirmed Blackburn Rovers are hoping to clinch the loan signing of Colin Kazim-Richards within the next 24 hours.

Speaking at the club's open day at Ewood Park this afternoon, Kean admitted the club were close to finalising a move for the Turkish striker.

He also said that papework was almost finalised to bring Portuguese midfielder Diogo Rosado to Rovers.

Good news! However we need defenders. Goals weren't a problem for us, it was our defence! I agree with defend from the front but our defence was simply not good enough! Our defenders;
Orr (Championship at best)
Dann (Championship at best)
Givet (Premiership)
Olsson (Premiership)
Heneley (Inexperienced prospect)
Hanley (Championship/Premie
rship)
Anderson (Really!)
Morris (Inexperienced prospect)

I think that Olsson and Dann will be sold on transfer dealine day. The young lads we have are very good prospects but at the moment that is all they are. We cannot rely heavily on them so I think we need 1CB, 1RB and 1LB just to surive. Im not sure who is out there or who would want to come to the circus but we need some cover ASAP, preferalbly either experienced championship pros or young lads from the premiership top 4. We need them quickly because in an area like defence we need to let them gel!!

I just wounder why HENDRY is not pressing his defence review news to fans, or club is just OK with Dunn/Orr/Givet/Hanle
y/Olsson, they are ok for 50 mts, but after that they are "just like a rock", stand and defend.........no coordination on corner kick defence.

Kazim is a good addition to club, is the medical ..done or just a talk ....lol.

i think it was yesterday, there was a story about kazim-richards, and there was virtualy no mention of him throughout a hundred or so posts, just the same old doom mongors producing the same drivel.

we are all frustrated by whats going on and yes we have made alot of freebie signings.. but aslong as the wear the shirt with pride and give it there all they have my support,

im honestly ashamed of how poor our support has become, if i was to try and pciture alot of you people who post on here... i would imagine a group of middle aged grumpy men all slumped around a a bar nursing and sulking into your pints mumbling aload of nonsense under your breath!

I dont know why the refer to Kazim-Richards as a striker, Paul Robinsons probably scored more career goals t han him, think he is more of a winger. Seen on Twitter a few pictures of Formica and Rochina on a night out with RSC does this mean there might be a cheeky loan deal lined up, would be a good signing if we can keep him fit, but if we are only playing 1 upfront again this season we would have enough options if he was injured.

Robinson/Bunn

Givet
Dann/Hanley
Olsson/Henley
Orr

Murphy
Etuhu/Lowe
Kazim-Richards/Simon

Olsson/Pedersen

Dunn/Rochina/Formica

Gomes/Goodwillie/RSC

Doesnt look to Shabby for the Championship.

Kazim-Richards , Have a look at his life time goal scoring record,he turned professional in 2004 , he has played lower league in England ,Bury ,etc. but since 2004 up to the present 2012 he has scored a grand total of 23 GOALS, thats 23 goals in 8 seasons of football.
And all of his goals in lower league goals , so it seems Kazim-Richards this great loan signing that we should all be so grateful for averages about 2 and a half goals a SEASON.
Maybe Kean doesnt know we can all go into the internet and look at the history of these players that Keans signs .
L.T. QUOTE (Kean confirms he has "clinched" this signing of Kazim Richards " .
Another person looking for easy money , on top of the likes of Kean ,Hendry and a bunch of foreign players who thing Rovers are a free A.T.M. machine.
Anyway I fear we have much further SOUTH to go.

About time the really Rovers fans came on here and started talking sense. I completely agree with Jay on this one, every signing is a negative one in so called Rovers fans eyes, as I have said before on here, give them chance to prove themselves, unfortunately we are stuck with Coco and the gang... until who knows, but the team is 'MY' team and I will forever get behind 'MY' team. We are blessed to have a Football Team (Premiership or not) in our town, lets not forget that either. I know already some of you are going to slate me for this post, but loyal fans see it through, trust me when we were playing in Division 2 in the mid 80's i was still there!

Good post NHMH.........

I was there in the 70's followed this club through thick and thin, and never in my days have I ever questioned the wisdom of those running this distinguished often derided old club.

Never did I see a day of me ever not attending Ewood, alas these blagueurs with the amateur goings on have totally decimated this club, our club, and for what ? This ugly embarrassing charade goes on.

I will always follow the badge and shirt, but under the Odious One, forget it his team isn't worth a fresh honk.

I will not support that, but that said I hold no grudges for those who choose to attend, and I look forward to reading good honest assessments of the games forthwith by those who choose to attend come the big K.O. ?

Mr Kean the problem with your team last season was YOU let your experienced defenders leave and failed to replace them adequately unless you call Orr an adequate replacement.

Why have you ot strengthened this area of the team through the summer instead of buying more midfielders and wingers - sorry it ibeyond belief.

Little wonder 10,000 season ticket holders have opted out and sadly the signing of Colin K R just confirms how we have fallen from being an established rteputable Premier League side to a rag tag and bobtail Championship side. How do you get excited about a new season at Ewood?

NEVER has there been such goings on at a football club before and for that reason , i wont be back till they have gone .

I see you've restricted the definition of 'supporter' in an attempt to belittle those people who don't want to go to Ewood Park. It could also be someone that supports a politician, a regime, a dictatorship, etc.

Read into that what you will but don't for one minute think that the only true supporters are those going to Ewood Park. Fans are entitled to do what they think is right without being judged by others. There will be no martyrs.

Finally somebody actually talking football on here. I completely agree. Looks pretty good to me. We also have the three young lads from Portugal who may be decent.

After a dire 18 months I am hoping we may finally be seeing something to cheer about.

If we do badly Kean gets sacked. If we do well we go up. AND the margins are different this year, so no room to squirm out of it - nothing other than top 3 or 4 all season or Kean will be on his way.

In fairness, most adults are at work between the hours of 8am and 6pm, so don't have the time to go to 'fun days' in the middle of a Wednesday.
Well i'm an adult big boy(and i work nights), and if people were serious in protests they would make time to show there true feelings(like book a day off it's really not hard) so don't give me pathetic fickle half hearted excuses for people you so called rovers are embarassing.
So you're shocked that a lovely family day out - where the kids got to have fun, meet the players and get their autographs - wasn't disrupted by a group of protesters? Aside from the fact that the majority of employed adults work between 8am and 5pm, it just goes to show what utter contempt you hold some of your fellow fans in.

You say that everyone should just get on with supporting the team but when they don't show up en masse with their 'Kean Out' banners you mock them for not booking the day off to do so! That doesn't make them fickle, it just means that they've got their priorities right.

Also, why would they jeopardise Saturday's meeting - the first of it's kind during Venky's tenure - by disrupting a community event aimed at families? There may be a lot of venting on here but there are also plenty of people, and organisations, waiting to hear what Shebby Singh has to say before deciding what course of action to take next.

"If we do badly Kean gets sacked". Call me cynical but this is bull sh*t - heard it all before, the guy is unsackable. More like if we do badly Kean won't get sacked and if we do well this will entail scraping a play-off spot or narrowly missing out on one and Kean coming up with some sob story about injuries and bad luck and that next season after a bit more time with some new signings and no injuries a top two spot will be a certainty -which it won't be and in five years time if these lunatics are still in charge we will be in league 1 playing Stanley who will have been promoted by then.

There doesn't appear to be many of us on here today. C'mon you Blues!

Fair Weather Fan's Creed:
A fan of a sports team who only shows support when the team is doing well. During hard times they usually refuse to renew their season tickets. They basically have no real loyalty to the team. Strangely they mysteriously vanish at the first sign of trouble but reappear when thing's are going well.

Fair Weather Fan's Creed:
A fan of a sports team who only shows support when the team is doing well. During hard times they usually refuse to renew their season tickets. They basically have no real loyalty to the team. Strangely they mysteriously vanish at the first sign of trouble but reappear when thing's are going well.
i know of fans whom was at that game against wimbledon , beaten 5-1 away in the first leg and the return leg on a very wet night drew the lowest ever attendance at Ewood for a competitive match ,
THAT is heart and soul Rovers ,ive seen the same faces on the only coach going to some far off night match , That is dedication ,I know some of the same people will not return till kean has gone ,there are top supporters of The Rovers staying away , I myself find it very hard to stay away but since venkys took over , i feel the very heart of what it is we support has been erased by these morons who feel nothing for this club .
Support them those who wish to but you wont feel THAT feeling .
This club now has a massive VOID, lacks SOUL which makes me tick as a fan
Never will i step foot on Ewood until at least KEAN IS OUT .

We have to remember that all the circus performers on-board at Ewood Park right now are on a big ego trip.
So from the Venky,s through to conman Kean they are all marching to the same tune !
They will becoming very nervy I imagine (even more so if they don,nt get off the a good start) when every gesture that comes from different individuals within the club is being rightly criticized by knowledgeable supporters for it "failings" and "silliness" and lack of subtance.
They will become very defensive and I imagine there will be every attempt to discredit supporters not getting on-board the Venky/Kean bandwagon.
Bottom line is that conman Kean cannot hide from the results (although he will use the Best injury has a first up when the season begins...).
Question is whether ever the Venky,s will remove (or can remove) the incompetent conman Kean if the result are poor over the first 6-10 games.
They certainly will not get my support until there is more openness and accountability throughout the club and with the appointment of a new Manager with a proven track record who will bring respect back to the club.

Kiwipom...One of Venkys biggest failings was underestimating the knowledgeable supporters of BRFC. They didn't realise that they would be found out so quickly by the majority of the fans. Whatever it is they are up to, it's obvious they daren't show their faces and I'll be surprised if they ever come to Ewood again.

It will be an interesting next few weeks. If Kean is still here after a bad start and they don't sack him, uncomfortable questions are going to be asked, and rightly so.

Remember getting off the coach and a policeman approached all 52 of us threatning us if we caused trouble. Ignored him and went straight to the nearest pub. Packed out and everybody seemed to be drinking Newcastle Brown. I remember the gale throughout the match, Terry Garbett sent a ball forward, the wind caught it and went straight back over his head!!

Those were the days when we knew, or thought we would never be a team in the highest division. Since tasting that, it is "a bitter pill to swallow" to see Rovers falling, but who knows? There is only one BIG step up to where we were last year, in the 1970's it was thre HUGE steps.

There doesn't appear to be many of us on here today. C'mon you Blues!

This quote is irrelevant. The fans aren't staying away just because the team aren't playing well, they're staying away because of the way certain individuals have treated them. A lot of fans will return to Ewood Park when Kean has gone but that doesn't mean that whoever takes over is going to lead us to promotion. However, as long as that person takes responsibility when things don't go well, shows a modicum of empathy with the fans and doesn't put his own personal gain before that of the club, it's supporters and it's community, then he'll be accepted and those fans won't feel the need to boycott.

It seems strange to me that if this is indeed true why were they trying to lower wages last season in the prem and now in the championship this guy will be the highest paid player along with Danny murphy, leon Best etc....doesnt make sense...

Little wonder 10,000 season ticket holders have opted out and sadly the signing of Colin K R just confirms how we have fallen from being an established rteputable Premier League side to a rag tag and bobtail Championship side. How do you get excited about a new season at Ewood?

I see the pro-Kean PR dept is back out in force....attempting to belittle genuine supporters and big up their man.
.
Fact is....they are signing loan and freebies because nobody wants them and the players are desperate to leave their clubs. Let's see Rhodes sign from Huddersfield and it may generate a bit of interest. The club is plummeting further with these idiots in charge.

Good for you, I managed to get Brian Laws to sign my programme at a similar event after Rovers beat Burnley in 2010. No doubt they'll be passing the autographs around and showing photos to friends and family of the day they went to Blackburn and met a Burnley legend. I think that may say everything we need to know about Blackburn Rovers today.

There doesn't appear to be many of us on here today. C'mon you Blues!

As a 15 year old i refused to go to Spain for 2weeks,i didnt want to miss the Wimbledon second leg, complete no-brainer at the time!Waited ages for a bus in the rain at Church lights, and like a vision, the coolest coach in the world(all white, chrome lights and blacked out windows}slammed on,the door opened, very much like that scene in The close encounters now i think about it ! A 7ft tall half man, half bear wearing a pink tu-tu filled the door he saw my sodden blue and white hand knitted wooly hat,and with the hint of a tear in his piercing slate grey good eye proclaimed "This is the Boars Head bus and weve been expecting you! Until the 5-0 game always had a bit of a soft spot for the Dons.I think it was the Newspaper picture of Dicky Guy my older brother had on his wall! Sat here going round and round and round and round in f-----ng circles, and for all Shakespeares brilliance added to all them stupid made up text words, and even the really stupid non scrabble words my mum knew, and i still cant find words to adequately convey how distraught this all sorry shambles has left me,but for all the gloom,il always remember theBurnley bus stop on match day, dead eyes and 80s striking miner facial hair.and that ugly cart pusher from the market, his tash the same dirty orange as the shoulder pads,on his dog haired donkey jacket, his mate had a pair of trainers, that had an extra home-made 3rd stripeand i know i was indeed blessed I followed the stone i cast and swam through oceans of happiness, remember all the joy, stay strong and try to believe we'll walk together in the sunshine once more.
