Egan treble for Nelson

NATHAN Egan blasted a hat-trick as Nelson enjoyed an emphatic opening day victory in Greater Manchester.

The Blues endured a miserable time in their first game of the season 12 months ago, but it was a different story this time around.

Irlam took the lead through Christopher Monaghan on the half-hour mark.

But Egan levelled for Nelson on 44 minutes.

He added two further goals, on 78 and 89 minutes, to give the Blues three points.
