Clarets boss: Vokes signing is final piece of the jigsaw

EDDIE Howe described the capture of Sam Vokes as the final piece in his attacking jigsaw, after the striker signed a three-year deal from Wolves.
The 22-year-old, who spent two months on loan at Turf Moor last season, became Burnley’s fifth summer signing after passing a medical yesterday morning, going on to make his second Clarets debut in last night’s friendly at Bath City.
Vokes’ arrival on a three-year deal brings Howe’s complement of strikers back up to four, following the record sale of Jay Rodriguez to Southampton earlier in the summer.
The Wales international scored two goals in nine games for the Clarets last season, and overall contributed to five wins in Burnley’s most productive spell of the campaign.
Howe was delighted to make the move permanent after being a long-term admirer of his former Bournemouth team-mate, and believes the 6ft 2ins targetman will continue to add an extra dimension to the Clarets’ armoury.
“It’s a deal we’re delighted to get over the line because Sam is different; he can offer different qualities and attributes to our other strikers and I think that adds to our balance in attack,” said the Burnley boss.
“I thought he did well for us and I thought it coincided with our best run of form of the season.
“I thought he gave us a different dimension, highlighted in the games when he scored – against Ipswich when he scored from a set play, and he came on against West Ham and scored the winner.
“But I thought his all-round contribution was good and he fitted into the group really well.
“He’s got a fantastic attitude. I think the supporters can see that in his performances.”
Of his quartet of strikers, Howe added: “I don’t think we can carry more than four from a financial viewpoint. Four is where we are and we’re more than happy with that, and with the four that we have.”
And of the possibilities of more additions before the end of pre-season, he said: “We still have a couple of areas in the squad that we want to look at, but it’s taking shape quite nicely at the moment.
“We’re not imminent on anyone else at the moment but things can change very quickly so who knows.”

Ideally we'd get in a new goalkeeper, but with Jensen and Stewart signing new deals, it looks like Eddie's happy with the ones we've got.

A cast off is a 37 year old put on the market because he is too old and knackered to do a job. And who picked him up offering silly wages that will bankrupt the club if they don't return to the prem next season?

Danny Murphy is on £36k a week plus £4k win bonus (So basically £36k a week) and I would imagine Nuno Overthehill is on the same money - You're manager hasn't got a clue and by the time Venkys realise this it will be too late.
Enjoy Match Of The Day on Saturdays as it's the closest you will EVER get to the Premier League again - those days are gone and you can now look forward to becoming the small backwater club that you used to be before that senile old gimmer Jack Walker paid for your success.

You are in the SECOND tier of English football.
Hope that helps to get rid of the false sense of security you seem to be struggling with.
And you soon come to terms with the "backwater"
By the way how's the new Bol-Ewood carehome coming on!?
