Rovers target two as Best ruled out for six months

BLACKBURN Rovers’ Championship preparations have been thrown into turmoil after having £3million summer signing Leon Best ruled out for at least six months with a cruciate knee ligament injury.

Rovers will immediately start the search for two new strikers ahead of next month’s big kick off after their worst fears were confirmed by scans on Best’s knee injury yesterday – with Kean set to be backed with the necessary funds by Venky’s.

The Lancashire Telegraph understands Rovers enquiries about prolific hot shot Jordan Rhodes have already been rebuffed by Huddersfield Town as they searched for competition for Best – but now are back in the market for two strikers.

Best suffered the injury during a pre-season friendly win over AEK Athens on Sunday, having just minutes earlier scored a spectacular second goal of the summer.Best was seen by Kean as integral to his plans to launch a challenge to make an instant Premier League return and will know the next couple of weeks will be key to his hopes.

The Telegraph still understands West Brom striker Simon Cox will not be coming to Ewood Park, despite Kean’s earlier interest, while another target, QPR’s Jamie Mackie, is expected to stay at Loftus Road.

Rovers’ ambitious attempts to sign 22-year-old Rhodes, even before Best’ injury, suggests Kean still has significant cash at his disposal, with the player likely to command a fee in the region of £6million.

Huddersfield though have firmly told Rovers the player is not for sale as their search for a striker suddenly becomes more urgent.

Best’s injury leaves Rovers with just Nuno Gomes and David Goodwillie as Rovers’ recognised strikers, with the Portugal man signed to play a more withdrawn role.

Rovers are resigned to losing Best for at least six months of the campaign but know he could miss even more of the season depending on the long recover process.

The striker missed most of the second half of last season at Newcastle with a knee injury and has been left devastated by his latest injury blow.

Rovers are targeting a physical striker in the mould of Best as well as a fast forward to add some pace to their fire power, with a short list being drawn up in the next 24 hours.

No way in the worl will we spend £6 million on a striker. If we have had a bid for Jordan Rhodes rebuffed by Huddersfield then it can only be because the offer was derisory. It's a real shame what has happened to Best, some people have suggested that he is injury prone and was out with a knee injury whlist at Newcastle. I just think we have been a touch unlucky.

On a more worrying note, the Radio Lancs interview last night with Shebby Sign was a real blow for me. I thought he was evasive and very uncleay about his role and his authority at the club. I also get the impression that him and Kean certainly don't see eye to eye and envisage them pulling in opposite directions.

This will be interesting - come on then Venkys, if your backing Kean how much are we going to spend on these two new strikers? Rhodes & Zaha or Kanu on a free & Will Keane from United on loan??

Couldn't believe Shebby came out and stated that automatic promotion was the only acceptable outcome for the season on radio lancs last night - must be gunning for Kean because its a million miles away with the squad as it stands.

How many times have we heard, "we need to hit the ground running" and for a change this is not a pop at Kean, Venkys give which ever manager in charge there backing and with a shortage in defence and now we need TWO strikers it does not bode well for the start of the season.

Come on Venkys to give us any chance you need to spend or it's another long hard season, the only reason I would give for them not spending is Keans atrocious record in the transfer market.

So either Sack him or (at your peril) back him.

It would make a statement to go out and get some one like Rhodes but with there record it looks more likely we will get ten more freebys, here's hoping but don't hold you breath.

Shabby went back to his stool after round one (he was very evasive by the way as expected) like Frank Bruno after Tyson hit him. Round 2 on Saturday will be even tougher but maybe just maybe he will get the message and change the manager.

In what universe do we now need 2 strikers?! The priority has to be to strengthen at the back, surely! Another striker would just be a luxury really, after all we have Nuno Gomes.........

Is there anyone out there who actually believes we can get auto promotion with this squad, even if Leon Best was fit? I mean, really? Even with Hendry as defensive coach, we've lost Jones, Samba, Nelsen, Salgado and Emerton and replaced them with Bradley Orr and Bruno Ribiero! Yes there are the young lads like G and R Hanley, Henley, Lowe, but it would be incredibly reckless and unfair to expect those lads to be playing 25 Championship games a season at their age.

as others have alluded the shebby interview was very interesting last night and for those that have not heard it - i recommend that you visit r.lancs website where it can be heard again on their local version of the i-player the "aye-player".
.
he was asked too many questions about best/forwards rather than the overall direction of the team/management and club. for someone with just overseas experience he showed an excellent grasp of uk media training. he certainly was not as good as cameron/blair or campbell but he was indeed expert as saying lots without saying anything.
.
as far as i recall the only pertinent question that he answered directly was about promotion - where only AUTOMATIC promotion would be considered a success. We may need to bank that quote and return later - it sounded like "top 10 finish and league cup" or even a "no way will we get relegated". Play-offs (or even promotion through) would not be considered success
.
he refused to be drawn on steve kean's short/med/long term prospects and casually avoided the question about mrs desai not wanting to lose face.
.
clearly, he is an acceptable frontman for the venky family who is both able to act as an articulate voice and a human shield. in fairness to him - he did nothing wronf in his interview last night...but did nothing to re-assure the masses that all is right with the world.
.
i cannot make the meeting on saturday at kgh - but may i suggest that somebody asks him a simple two part question:
1) do you take into consideration the views of the ordinary fan? (a simple Y/N)
turn round ask the audience for a show of hands (without prejudice/malice or threats) for those who want steve kean removing...then
2) ask what he thinks of the show of hands.
Simple and unequivocal. Can't predict the result exactly but I am sure that kean will be as popular as raising the south korean flag at last week's north korea game at Hampden.
.
Listening to him last night, i cant help but feel we have been down the same road several times before since november 2010. this time it has been more coherently stated - but it still the same fuss and bluster. i hope i am wrong, i really do - i guess the proof of the pudding and all that.

what has changed for him to now back him, and how can we trust someone that does a complete u turn

We have already had to listen to outrageous predictions fall to nothing from the previous spokesperson, how are we moving on?

Blackburn Rovers need to get two striker and two defenders in this regeneration process, now on transfer rumours Scott dunn/Hanley/Olsson/Z

Get a view on olympic football matches and get the best strikers with pace and skills, who like to play in english club football league.

S.Kean is best to identify the talent with his experience, but team need FIT players who can stay in the feild for 90 mts and produce wining result.

More rhetoric from Shebby Singh evening last.............

The simple matter of the fact is this:

Venky, along with the incumbent have ripped the heart and soul out of what once was a stable and functional football club turning it into a circus which fills me with fear for the future.

Transitional period ?

My view, a perpetual horror show under this regime.

A positive spin on a disaster that will take many, many years in rectifying after taking the sledge hammer approach to our club.

I'm looking forward to the meeting on the 11th at KGH, and those 500 that turn up should let Shebby know that the game needs to be upped asap or face a meltdown as the brutal and unforgiving world of football moves on with BRFC in it's wake !

Shebby speaks of automatic promotion ? I love his enthusiasm, but his forecast is wildly lost in translation. Even without Bests injury are they really telling us of 40 years standing watching BRFC that we can see automatic promotion ?

Dickens ! Dream on Shebby your a stooge as the rest of them attempting in galvanizing a lost cause when it had no reason to be that way.

Made in Blackburn
Destroyed in India

This situation that besets BRFC is no fault of the supporters only the owners who have made pish poor decisions from day one, and continue to this day in making or allowing for poor decisions to be made.

Sacking the 'Odious One' would only leave a massive hole to fill after his disastrous tenure thus far. I hope that who ever is appointed is one of vast experience and hits the ground running. That said who would want to manage under this lot ?

Rubbish !

As for Shebby and Kean pulling in different directions this can only be a good thing. If Venkys have brought Shebby in to try and sort out the mess we find ourselves in he will soon see the root cause is Kean's total incompetence as a manager and hopefully Venky's will listen to Shebby, cause they certainly don't listen to the supporters, and get Kean out. My guess is he will be got for 4.0 / 5.0m
I hope you are right and he can be bought for 4 or 5 mil. He would be an excellent buy. I just can't see it but I do hope so.

Regardless of the injury to Best, anyone who went on Ewood last season knows that the DEFENCE needs the urgent action, and yet all we hear about is the need for more forwards. Which team did Walter Mitty and the Three Stooges watch last season?

More rhetoric from the club in the interview - don't you get the impression that any TV pundit with any knowledge of football could say and do what SS has so far - with the exception that anyone else would have sacked Walter Mitty.

Just listened to the Radio Lancs interview/propaganda mission and it merely confirms my worst fears. Shebby is no more than a mouthpiece, employed to front the media instead of the sweaty lipsmacker/failing imposter that continues to pose as team manager.
It's such a pity that no-one (or maybe the callers were screened) asked why the Venky's are standing by the worst manager in the club's proud hstory and a failure that has resulted in relegation from the worlds best league?
Stating automatic promotion is just a great sound byte that every long suffering supporter knows will simply not happen with the bald clown in charge.
I also can't imagine any last minute rush to renew season tickets after hearing less than an hours football banter that sounded about as clued-up as the next cab driver on the rank!

Very disappointing interview - not sure that I expected to hear any in-depth stuff about Venkys or Kean etc on an interview like this - but it should have been a bit more revealing.

Automatic promotion? Well the bookies do seem to almost share that view making us fourth favs to get promoted - so that is maybe not too wild a statement for him to make in that context. But he did not put enough meat on the bones for me - he could have alluded to some tasty morsel of things to come that we all wanted to hear....but at least it is hopefully the start of some improved communication at last.

Shame about Best...he would have got us off to a flying start with his goals.....He did have a cruciate injury at Newcastle too, wonder how well that was all checked out before we signed him? He came back from that and scored goals at St James but now a second similar injury may be too much? He didn't have a bad playing record at his previous clubs but this is pretty serious stuff.

Kean out, two strikers and a defender in ASAP.

If we are getting rid of Robbo and Dann and Olsson then we need to do it now rather than later. Need to have some idea of the best team before the first game at Ipswich.

I haven't bothered listening to the interview because I've spent enough time over the last 12 months listening to clueless individuals and hoping that they will actually act on what they say. So far it has been disappointment after disappointment.

For Singh to state that automatic promotion is the only acceptable outcome for this season clearly shows his lack of knowledge about Championship football. West Ham under a very good manager and a much better side than we have only managed 3rd last season. Does this mean that if Kean and his side finish 3rd and win the play-offs that will be considered a failure and he will be removed? Pull the other one.

As another post said, Singh is nothing more than a talker, who is being paid to take some of the questions and pressure away from Kean whilst he continues to inflict further damage on this club, although no longer the 'public front' of the club. It seems that Singh has won over the BRAG by talking the talk and agreeing to Q and A sessions. Its going to take a bit more than that to win me over.

Kean's excuse for the new season = injuries have taken away key players.

S.Kean is best to identify the talent with his experience, but team need FIT players who can stay in the feild for 90 mts and produce wining result.

Get well soon, Best is still the good player, love to watch him in action. Thanks for the one goal which gives hope to do better.
And exactly what experience has Kean got? I suggest you look him up on Wikipedia, then go for a lie down and take your medication.

I have had time to reflect on what was said last night by Shebby Singh. He has stated that anything other than a top two finish will be failiure. He also stated that everyone, including himself was being measured and anyone under performing would be removed. He stopped short of saying how many games Kean would have, but last year Kean was trying to make out we were on target for a top 10 finish, even when we were in the bottom 3 with almost half a season gone. I fear that Kean will spout how we are on target for promotion, irrespective of the start we get.

I am expecting a poor season and a poor start, the question is how long will Kean get? Personally I think the fans need to be promised that he only has x number of games and unless we are in say the top 5 after 10 games he will be gone. It is very easy for anyone to talk the talk, but it is about time promises were delivered.

Someone mentioned racism a few days ago, well its a glaring indictment how false that accusation was, just by the respect very angry fans showed to Shebby in that interview.

Its a foregone conclusion that even Shebby must be aware of, that he will go from PR zero to Rovers Hero overnight if he does the right thing if and when early results point the finger in the direction of the self styled maradonna's lack of competence having now received both backing and funding from the owners.

Exclusive - Shebby Singh talks to Vital Blackburn

Yesterday I met up with the new Global Director at Rovers, Shebby Singh, in his modest office at Ewood Park to ask him about himself and his plans and vision for the club. I am pleased to say we were granted an exclusive interview with Shebby who took time out to talk to us...

Rover23 - There seems to be a level of uncertainty with your role. The term 'Global Advisor' is not something you hear much of in football. What are your exact duties?

Shebby - There are certain rules in football, you are either a player, part of the medical staff, part of the coaching staff, or you are a manager, CEO or Managing Director.

Global advisor is a term which was coined by Madam Anuradha (Mrs Desai) because I had been working with the Venkys since August 2011.

I was head of football development Asia. That was a specific role, and now I find myself given a role where, simply put, I am the owners' representative; and then come the employees, so I try to smooth out the way for everything from administration to the technical teams, just to make sure that there is no divide and no delay in what has to happen from the day to day running of the club. Also my second responsibility is to oversee the present and the future of the club.

It is not restricted. If you are the MD or the financial director, those are responsibilities with borders. It is fair to say that I oversee the running of the club.

Rover23 - In the past Steve Kean has been flying off to India to meet the owners. Will he now be meeting you, or will he carry on going over to India?

Shebby - That is interesting. Since I have been tasked with a certain responsibility, being the owners' representative, you talk to me.

What happened last season was possibly a different arrangement.

This season it is a different arrangement. Now I don`t see the need for Steve to have to fly to India. We will work together here; whatever needs to be done will be done.

Rover23 - The people of the UK know you more as a TV personality. What skills do you bring to this newer role?

Shebby -Most people don`t know that I played football for 18 years, including 9 for my country, Malaysia. Yes there will be people who say 'Oh Malaysia', well the game all over the world is 11 v 11 played with one ball and two sets of goals. The standard of play will definitely be different, but it is still the same game.

Eighteen years of experience at working with coaches at all levels; Frank Lord and Trevor Hartley are two Englishmen who were among my coaches who I learnt a lot from. Being on television for 15 years as a football pundit, you look at football differently. I am not here to bang my drum or tell people who I am. I am here because I have a responsibility.

Football is not rocket science as most people like to believe. It is a very simple game, and it is a beautiful game. I am not here to justify what I am. Something needs to be done at this club, and needs to be done quickly, and I am doing it.

Rover23 - What are your priorities now you are in this new role?

Shebby - Most important is to make sure that we put out a very, very competitive team that has to include the present and the future of the club.

It is to build a club, not just build a team; something which I think has been long neglected at this club. Take the Germans, they went back to the drawing board and started with young people; they were patient and now they are starting to reap the rewards.

At club football you cannot afford to just do that, you have got certain targets to achieve such as promotion. You can build a team to get promoted, but if you build a club, you can have a team that gets you promoted and sustain yourself at the next level, so that is my priority. Most importantly is that come the 18th of August, we are ready for the long hall.

Rover23 - Obviously this season the target is promotion, but where do you see the club in 3 to 5 years time?

Shebby - Football in its own beauty has got its own pitfalls as well, and like I said, we want to achieve sustainability, so 3 to 5 years we hope that we will have a crop of players, a generation of players, whether they are home grown or supplemented with players from outside, that we can remain to be competitive. I think we want to be ambitious, but at the end of the day we have to keep expectations within our control.

Rover23 - We've had figures of authority at Blackburn Rovers make promises and assurances to us before which have gone unfulfilled - What do you say to the fans who have the same doubts this time around?

Shebby - For me, what happens on the football pitch should be speaking for itself, not individuals, because as individuals you open your mouth, but can you justify your words? And on what basis do you do that? For me it is the football team.

Once the referee blows his whistle, there should be an indication of what the future is going to be, and what levels of expectation that can be derived from watching that group of players in action. Words are cheap, they don`t mean anything.

Rover23 - Have you seen much change at Ewood Park since your appointment?

Shebby - I don`t know what it used to be like, but I think I have come in here and there is a better atmosphere, there are more smiles, more laughter, everybody seems to be enjoying work, I think the majority of the staff at Ewood are buzzing! - to borrow an English word.

Rover23 - How have you found the likes of the BRFC Action Group and the BRSIT? Have you had many dealings with them?

Shebby - I am a fan myself, and I think what has been very interesting about meeting the various groups is that they all share one thing in common, and that is a passion for the club.

They want to see some clear direction. It is not like somebody is going to beat somebody up or there is violence, it is just the people's club, and now in a short space of time, with open dialogue, they understand where the club is coming from, and the club now understands where the fans are coming from. It is certainly helping in building bridges.

The relationship should be that the fans are happy and the club has a clear sense of direction, and together we can turn a 0-1 into a 1-1 or a 1-1 into a 2-1, but it has to be done together.

Rover23 - Rovers seem to have been quite active in the transfer market... Is that something you wanted to make sure of when you came here?

Shebby - There are two things that I looked at when I came here. Number 1 is to look at what we have, and number 2 is to look at what we need. I think this has been working well, for example Danny Murphy and Nuno Gomes.

We needed that senior experience and characters. Not big name players who play for themselves, but players who can bring extra qualities to a team. Apart from what they do on the pitch, they are mentors off it as well. Nuno quite possibly has the more specific group, with our Spanish and Portuguese speaking contingent, young players who have been here like Mauro Formica, Ruben Rochina, and then the young ones who have come in, Paulo Jorge, Fabio Nunes and Edinho Junior.

Danny generally looks after everybody else, so it is good to know there are responsible people out there

Rover23 - Last season we suffered relegation, something which many fans think could have been avoided with a change of management. If it does not look as though we will get promoted this season, will the necessary changes be made? And do you have the authority to make these changes?

Shebby -If we find that we are not competitive at the start of the season, no stone will be left unturned to rectify that. It`s as simple as that. I cannot put it in more words. Produce or get out.

At the end of this interview I was left with the impression that Shebby Singh is passionate about Blackburn Rovers, their promotion in the short term, but more importantly the long term future of the club, and it seems that nobody would stop him in achieving this.

I would like to say thank you to Shebby for agreeing to this meeting, and to the people who helped make it happen.

Mine given chance will be, Why is the mangager with the worst record in BRFC history still employed by the Venkys.

Answer as we know will be "it's a new start"

Follow this with does Kean own any part of BRFC?

I will be interested to see if anyone else spots the "Deflection mode" kick in when he is asked an awkward question on Saturday.

Interesting point but totally academic as there is no way they will tell us. They cannot bull up the figures as the Inland Revenue would be asking where their cut is, when it became apparent their figures didn't match the actual attendance. If the figure was too low the IR would again be suspicious. All I will say is don't expect to see a large crowd against Hull.

Lets not forget that last season we (the support) weretold by many/most outside of BRFC we were being too harsh on poor old Keano and he would come good. Up until the final flourish we were still being otld to stop being negative, and Keano would pull us out of it.
In saying this all the outsiders were poo pooing our grasp of the game and all things BRFC.

Well here we go again. Just how many of us are confident of auto promotion???
You can go along with the bookmakers (who are not in it to lose money), but they are not always right. They are IMO gambling on Keano being booted out.
I personally cannot see us as fourth best team in this division, and remember: EVEN IF WE WERE THAT DOES NOT GAIN YOU PROMOTION = Failure.

Everyone is reading this as Keano. But so far: EVERYONE ELSE HAS BEEN BLAMED AND KEANO REMAINS.

What I ponder is: Is this just idle wishful thinking by the support, because that is what they want to believe.
Don't get me wrong here it would be unheard of for him to have said 'after 10 games of poor results Kean will get his cards'.
But, the win ratio to be on track for auto promotion is what....22/23 points after 10 games.?
And how does that stack up against his win ratio so far? Thats a mighty huge improvement in anyones book.
Yes we are in a lower div., but how many think Keano has learnt enough to hit that sort of figure?

I dont think anyone has or is confident of automatic promotion BBTGOD....it is a hope rather than an expectation. But I watched a quite a bit of championship football on tv over the last season or two (not much else to do in France) and it can be pretty dire.

Wolves and Bolton are the two favs to go straight back up and lets face it they were no better than us last season and they have not brought anybody of note into their squads and Wolves look like they will lose their main scorer - Fletcher.

When you look at it like that in context then Rovers could have a chance. It would surely have been a better chance before Best got injured but if Rovers (not Kean) bring the right players in we could have a shout still.

Kean should never have been appointed manager of BRFC as far as I'm concerned. The new owners made massive mistakes as well .
However I do wonder what position the Club would be in if the previous owners were still 'in charge'.

It seems to me that lessons have been learned and things are 'on the mend'.

I'll probably get lambasted by some but consider that my opinion is as valid as those who keep telling me not to purchase a season ticket.

Like suggesting we have made a £50 bid for Messi...never would happen.

In otherwords a "safe" bid and a PR stunt.
I cannot see the Venky,s too commited to the suggestions of money being available to seriously strength the squad.
If they were genuine/serious they would have had Kean out long before now.
I see last minute loans & freebie,s....definet
ely not be hitting the ground running because there is no way Kean know who is going to be available the first game.

I think that if the "previous owners were still in charge," your words, we would still be in the Premier League with a squad full of experienced professional players.

Instead the new owners, in their cost cutting exercise, offloaded these players and the rest is history.

They got us relegated in other words and now realise that we will miss out on our share of the billions of Sky TV money.

Shebby's hands are tied aren't they. He can't fire Kean immediately. The self-proclaimed 'assassin' will need to wait until a dismal run of results to fire Kean. So I'm wondering whether losing the first 5 games might not be the best outcome. Kean goes, fans are back and we move up the table. The relationship between Kean and most fans is untenable and it also appears with the Cox situation that there is not agreement within the management about targets.

Shebby has at least understood that we cannot defend as a team. But he won't be able to fix that other than recruiting a manager and coach with the right skills.

I am interested in exactly how many people are boycotting going to Ewood or buying a season ticket? Is it just a couple of hundred? The fact is this situation will cause withdrawal symptons as football and following your own team is a drug and much better than the alternatives shopping or sitting at home trying to get your lap top to give you 3 mins of the match before it needs refreshing. Kean wont be at the club at Christmas so we may get a nice present plus an half season ticket be interesting if the crowd doubles when he goes.

It's got be around 7500 at least? Possibly a little higher but still under 10k.

Interesting that many people are assuming that if Kean goes ,say in October, everybody is going to nip down to Ewood to get their season ticket.
Prices have gone up,winter closing in,bad start,Keans team on the pitch,ko's at all times of day and the withdrawal factor assuming a lesser influence.Occasional game would cost £20-25 per game.
The season ticket base took 8 years post promotion to build up and has been ripped in half.
If all the other factors associated with this suicide mission are still in place then don't expect a resurgence to previous levels.
Get rid of the guy who has brought the club into disrepute TWICE now and we may have a chance of salvaging the club.

Hi bburnrover.......I think thousands not hundreds will boycott.....The thing is to stay away until he's gone...The owners are well aware of our feelings now so keep the pressure on.

Kean is not qualified to manage a professional football team and it showed in the dire displays last season. He was a cheap option for Venkeys', same as everything else they have done on the cheap.

My grandson is in the school team and their coach has them playing better football than Kean ever could.

Just listened to the radio interview with Shebby Singh again, he says" good preparation, good tactics, good strategy, and good players will win matches"
If this is his genuine belief, then why stick with Kean? He proved in every match last season that the preparation, tactics and strategy was beyond him, and his ability to pick players or manage them is non existent. Just sounds like more empty rhetoric from people that are only interested in the BRFC cash cow....

I was under the impression that to coach in the PL you had to have certain badges. This is obviously not true as Kean would be lucky to get a Blue Peter badge.

Just read that we are after a South Korean from Arsenal - Park Chu-Young. A striker with a decent scoring record for his country and scored 25 goals in 91 league one appearances in 3 seasons at Monaco.

Arsenal signed him last season and hardly used him, he got just one game I think. Looking at Arsenal blogs it seems that it totally baffled the Gooner fans as why Wenger didn't play him more?

He has played in two World Cups and he is in the current South Korean Olympic team and has already scored one goal v Switzerland and he is playing in the quarter final v Gabon at 5pm today. Worth having a look at a possible new Rover..

Morning Mr French :)

Just read the 'Vital Football' interview......

As Shebby states: Words are cheap !

Reading what the intentions are appear to have a thread running through it, but as I said yesterday the rebuilding of BRFC will be a massive undertaking considering what as taken place these last 2 years.

For Venky to have(or allowed the odious one) to rip apart the structure suggests it must have become stagnant under the old regime and is in need of a overall ?

Bit like decorating which begins with just the corner then when you get underneath you realize that this is a major job that needs doing !

Problem is is the job to big for them in putting BRFC into the upper echelons that they so much championed ?

Reading Shebbys quotes on Vital Football his remarks allude to the structure being built back up only this time around in the vision and image of Venky.

Just what the outcome will be is hard to discern at the moment ?

Taking the hatchet to trimming the business is proving to be a controversial one, and Shebby as much to do in putting Humpty back together again ?

I just wish to see a functional and stable founder of the football League 1875 prosper regardless of which league it ply's it's trade in.

I bet they wish they had got a second quote on that decorating job !

Je vous souhaite une tres bonne journee et parler bientot.

However, Newcastle, Blackburn and Palace are believed to have all been awarded Category Two status. This will have considerable financial consequences and inhibits the academies’ capacity to produce future first-team players to follow in the footsteps of star graduates like Andy Carroll, Steven Taylor, Phil Jones, Victor Moses and Nathaniel Clyne.

Another thing they can't get right!!!!!

Bonjour RR, another day and another mild revelation from the Rovers!

Our beloved Shebmeister says no panic buying.....what panic does the new godfather of all things Rovers refer to....? Maybe he is the reincarnation of Corporal Jones in Dads Army....and Mrs Desai is Captain Mainwaring...stabili
ty not panic....return to former glories or at least to former well run club.

Optimistic that French Rover I think. But even that would be 12,500 down on when Kean arrived. Plus say 3 to 4K walk on fans could be down as well?
.
And I don't think even a few early wins would have fans running back like in the past. I think it runs deeper this time and Shebby has to grasp that?

Hi Mr Melchester - optimistic is my middle name.....!

But yes it is a disgrace that all the sad events at Ewood which have been wholly dictated and mismanaged by these jokers and charlatons has led us down to such a low number of ST sales.

I reckon we would be almost bottom of the Prem, Championship and First Divisions in sales.... which tells its own sad story of a club in decline.

However I wonder how many ST's Portsmouth sold over the last couple of seasons..? That would make for an interesting comparison. I know two seasons ago they only had 11k sold pre-season. So should be less than that last season and this season not sure if they even bothered selling them at all...?.
