University Centre at Blackburn College football team have won the Northern Conference League after beating local rivals University of Bolton 7-0.
The victory means UCBC won the BUCS (British Universities and Colleges Sport) Northern Conference League by six clear points.
Manager Ben Gooden, a Sports Coaching graduate from UCBC, said: “The team played an exceptional match to cap a great season – I am very proud of everything we have achieved.”
Justine Walker, Course Leader of the Foundation Degree in Health and Personal Training, added: “The team has been fantastic all season and thoroughly deserve their place at the top of the table.
“I can’t thank Ben enough for all his hard work – it’s this dedication by the both him and his team that has no doubt contributed to their cohesion both on and off the pitch. They have played some great football.”
