Clitheroe Cobras under 11s won the Arthur Shaw Knockout Cup for an incredible ninth successive year with a victory over Cherry Tree.
In front of a large contingent of spectators at Chatburn Road, Cherry Tree won the toss, batted first and set about the job of smashing the Clitheroe bowlers. However, the harder the batsmen tried to hit, the more the wickets fell: Daniel Kellington (4-6), Matthew Neilson (3-9), Kian Farnworth (2-3) and Jonathan Richardson (2-20) were superbly supported by some wonderful catching and two run-outs.
In reply and cruising past a target of just 11, Clitheroe, rapidly and proficiently, batted Cherry Tree out of the game with Jonathan Richardson (26) and Matthew Neilson (21) leading the way to a 62-run victory.
Clitheroe Cobras will now represent the Ribblesdale League in the county section of the competition, hoping to reach the final like their U15s have done this season.
