Skipper role for Hipgrave

EARBY youngster Luke Hipgrave has landed representative honours – and will lead the Upper Airedale Junior Cricket Association team for this year’s Yorkshire Festival.

Hipgrave, the son of Applegarth legend Stephen Hipgrave, will lead the squad for the games against Sheffield, Huddersfield and the Aire-Wharfe League.

Hipgrave is joint team manager with Simon Howell for the games with the first match taking place on Monday, August 6 against Sheffield at Eckington Cricket Club.

The squad is: Luke Hipgrave (Earby), George Sutcliffe (Skipton), Isaac Murray (Denholme), Matt Wear (Denholme), Ben Howell (Oakworth), Sam Nettleton (Oakworth), Oliver Huck (Oakworth), Jack Keighley (Oakworth), James Baxter (Crossflatts), Patrick Lee (Silsden), Ted Wilman (Gargrave), Charlie Shimmin (Wilsden), Lewis Hopkinson (Oxenhope).
