At least these signings look better than the ones he made in the Xmas transfer window.

Despite the managers poor tactics, team selections and substitutions for the last few matches the whole season wasn't always a disaster. There was an heroic win against Utd, an excellent 10 man performance against Fulham and at the beginning of the season despite the world's worst defensive play, our attacking play was good. We should be able to make a decent challenge for promotion.

I just hope that the atmosphere improves in the ground, without that we have no chance. No-one can believe that chanting "Kean Out" within the first 10 minutes of the last home game against Wigan match would help Rovers win the match. If that happens again we can write off the season.

Sometimes I think our terraces have been infiltrated by those from the other end of the M65 to purposely cause trouble.

Many people will boycott the matches this season, but I have heard of many who are not renewing season tickets because they can't stand the terrible atmosphere in the ground.

The role of the fan is to help the team win matches, nothing else. If that's not the reason for going to the match then I wouldn't go.

It's results that normally gets a manager sacked, we have a squad good enough to get promoted, if the results are bad then manager has to be sacked, it won't be demonstrations that get him sacked. SK cant use the excuse of not having a good enough squad for the Championship.

Seems to be some good signings and players like Jordan Slew should be able to replace Hoillet at this level.

At least these signings can give us some cause for a little optimism.
So you've managed to find virtually the only two performances from last season that supporters could be pleased with. For the win at Man Utd I remember Cardiff away in the cup. That evens it out. United was one exceptionally good performance and result. Cardiff was one exceptionally bad performance and result.

When will people learn? Kean can and will find an excuse for his failures for ever and ever. That is what snakes like him do. He knows he is a failure as both a manager and a human being, but rather than accepting that like a man and moving on with his pathetic existence he would prefer to inflict further pain and destruction on BRFC.

People said that when relegation came he would have nowhere to hide. Well he did. He disappeared for 4 weeks on holiday and then has returned to the fold quietly. Anyone think it is a coincidence that Murphy & Best's arrivals have coincided with Kean's return to public view? No, he's timed it to perfection knowing full well that people's anger will have died down and he can hide behind these 'good' signings. No doubt helped along the way by the PR genius that is Paul Agnew.

Back the original point, I honesty think that we could start next season with Barcelona's squad and I wouldn't be confident of promotion, such is the detrimental effect Kean has on the club. He simply is not up to the job of being a manager. He has proven that. If anyone seriously thinks he is suddenly going to go from a 20% win record to the required 50-60% for promotion then they need help like he does.

Kean is recruiting all his old pals to the club to strengthen his position. He knows Murphy from Fulham, Best from Coventry and the Portuguese players from his illustrious career over there. Agnew and Shaw will not complain as they collect their salaries for doing nothing. Soon the supporters will be the only ones who can complain, most of those will have left the club.

Anyway, how's the search for a new sponsor going? Any news or are we not bothering with nonsense like that?"

Gallacher hails Rovers’ swoop for striker Leon Best

'PROMISING' Gallacher hails Leon Best 'PROMISING' Gallacher hails Leon Best

LEON Best’s £3million move to Blackburn Rovers continues a “promising” start to pre season – but the Ewood faithful should not expect the former Newcastle man to be the ‘next Yakubu’.

That is the verdict of former Rovers striker Kevin Gallacher, who has watched Best in action closely at both the Magpies and Coventry City, clubs he also played for.

Best completed his four-year deal early yesterday evening to become Rovers’ second signing of the summer, after former Fulham skipper Danny Murphy joined last week.

Portuguese youth international Fabio Nunes is also expected to put to pen paper imminently, with his medical set to be completed today, while former Benfica striker Nuno Gomes is also expected to sign later this week.

Sporting Lisbon midfielder Adrien Silva remains a target for the Championship new boys although a deal has yet to be agreed for the highly-sought after 23-year-old.

Best, 25, has not been known for a prolific strike rate during his career and Gallacher believes Rovers are signing a different ‘type’ of player to the now departed Yakubu.

Gallacher said: “Leon is a decent Championship signing. He is a good Championship player, who maybe struggled in the Premier League at times.

“You never know how many goals he will score at Blackburn until you see the players around him and the formation he will be playing in. He maybe isn’t as prolific a goal scorer as Yakubu was.

“He is a different type of player though. You will get more movement out of him and he will be better suited to playing the one up front role, if needed.

“Yak had a fantastic season. You might not get one player scoring the goals he did but we have to be looking at replacing those goals between a couple of our strikers. I believe we have the fire power now, we just need to create the chances.”

The make up of Rovers squad for next season remains uncertain ahead of the start of pre season training on Thursday, with a number of players still understood to be looking for exits.

Gallacher though believes the addition of Murphy and Best is a good start but knows that has to be built on by manager Steve Kean and Venky’s.

“It is a promising start isn’t it?”, he said. “Danny Murphy should be a good signing, as long as he maintains the enthusiasm, and will add more creativity to the midfield.

“We all knew we needed players more used to English football and we at least seem to be adding that now. There is more to do but is a promising start, after what has happened.

“I watched Leon a lot when he was at Coventry and, on his day, he was a very good striker. Towards the end of his time he perhaps didn’t look interested but he got a good move to Newcastle and did okay there.

“If Rovers can get him in the right frame of mind, then I’m sure they have got themselves a good player.”
