Hitchon qualifies for hammer final at European Championships

BLACKBURN Harrier Sophie Hitchon has qualified for the hammer final at the European Championships in Helsinki.
The 20-year-old Burnley star finished 11th in qualifying after a throw of 67.08m on her third and final attempt, with the top 12 hammer throwers progressing to Sunday's final, which begins at 2pm UK time.
