Accrington Stanley agree deal to sign Hatch

ACCRINGTON Stanley have confirmed that they have agreed a one-year deal to sign midfielder Lewis Hatch.

The 18-year-old has been released by Liverpool at the end of his contract.

"I've watched Lewis in person on numerous occasions playing for Liverpool's youth team," said manager Paul Cook.

"He's had a lot of bad luck with injuries, which I'm putting down to the fact that the boy is still growing and developing.

"He's got a lot of good qualities. He's got a good physical frame, he's going to mature and grow, he can handle a ball well and he's got good athleticism and a great desire to win.

"I think that stands out in young lads - the fact that they don't like to be beaten."

Hatch was a regular for Liverpool's under 18 side last season and has also been involved at reserve team level.

He becomes Stanley's fourth signing of the summer after Toto Nsiala, George Miller and Bohan Dixon and will join up with his new team-mates for the start of pre-season training next week.
