For nonstop effort, my namesake, Noddy McLeod.
If you think Jack "the Baghdad Bomber" Straw is a leftwinger, you need some political education.

A miracle we kept Sellars for so long, and a tragedy that he left for Leeds when we finally got to the league he deserved to be playing in. How he wasn't a regular for England I'll never know. The sweetest left foot I've ever seen

This dates me but Bobby Langton was the best left winger by far in the days of Finney and mathews he was Englands left wing man. I was priveleged to see him in his last season before moving to Preston. and then again in the Johnny Carey era.HE never missed a penalty ever.

Damian Duff, excellent speed and dribbling skills, his skill at cutting in from the left through a crowd of defenders to score was a delight to watch.
Both performed in the top division and performed against top defenders.

1. Keep Kean quiet for a bit (shebby to spout sh1t instead)
2. Sign as many players or be linked before 10 July 2012.
3. Avoid players leaving (apart from Hoillet and Yak) before 10 July 2012.
4. From 11 July Sell as many big earners as possible.
5. From 11 July Steve can continue spouting.
This is on very good information,
Whats the relevance of the 10/11th July 2012 ??????

Garner helped hmself to a hat-trick and remember a late Man City sub - Gary Flitcroft, making an appearance.
Shame Dalglish didn't like Scotty's style.

He was Blackburn born and bred and perhaps ahead of his time: blisteringly quick, very skilful and a bit of a poser too - If you think in the Christiano Ronaldo mold you're not far away.
Equally at home on the left or the right (though he played mostly on the left) he relished taking players on and beating them with pace, no matter who they were. If you're lucky to bump into him at a Rovers game he will recall an incident when he nutmegged Stanley Matthews (something that you just DIDN'T do!), took the ball down the line only to be clattered by the full-back for his lack of respect!
He did have respect for his club though. He was a Rovers fan from being a boy and still counts himself blessed to have played alongside his heroes Douglas and Clayton. He always had time for the fans and when once asked why he signed so many autographs replied: "I best make the most of it now. A day will come when nobody will want one!"
The fact is though, I never saw him play. I'm 23 years old, 47 years his junior. However, everyone I've ever asked has said he was a brilliant player (whilst adding he loved himself a little too much and that he went down like a sack of spuds in the box - again, ahead of his time!).
He's not in the best of health these days and his memory isn't what it was; but ask him anything about his playing career and he'll recall to the finest detail and glow with the enthusiasm he still has for the game.
As far as I'm concerned, he's the best left winger Rovers have ever had - but then, as I say, I am biased.
I'm his grandson.

Please give him my best wishes, and tell him I remember him playing for St James school, when I was in the St John,s school team, when they slaughtered us, one saturday morning at Pleckgate playing fields, in the Blackburn schools league, circa 1954.

I'm even more biased though, he's my father.
Born in 1965, I never saw him play either. Anyone know if there's any archive footage anywhere? I'm sure he was a teriffic player, although injury curtailed his career.
