    Excellent signing ??
    .
    A "coup for Rovers ??"
    .
No doubt he is a talented player BUT he is 35 years old, injury prone, not very mobile and I doubt he and Dunn can play in the same team (they are too similar types of player).
    .
Where is the logic of firing off experienced older players on big wages (Nelson, Salgado, Roberts etc) just to replace them with, err, old experienced players on big wages ??
    .
Also Best will be a VERY GOOD signing but don't get carried away.
    .
The lunes from pune know that we will have a FULL team to replace -

    Hoilett
    Nzonzi
    Yak
    Dann
    Robinson
    Givet
    Formica

    will ALL definately leave
    .
    And -

    Vukevic
    Hanley
    Rochina

may also depart (I'm sure they all would if they could).

So a huge rebuilding job to be done.
there is no chance half of them players you mentioned will be allowed to leave also venky's are i think are trying to get back up and HAVE got cash to spend unlike brsit just wish we had a proper manager and also salgado and nelson's legs are gone and will have no club next season, roberts should have been kept
Don't be stupid - Shabby Shiek said only YESTERDAY that ANY player who wants to go CAN GO - so ALL of those players listed WILL GO.
    .
As for Venkys having put money into Rovers - are you JA in disguise ?? - the club has a £20m relegation black hole to fill (how naive are some Rovers fans ??).
    .
As for Neslon "struggling to find a club" - shows you know nothing about football - he signed for QPR on Monday and will be playing in a higher division than us.
    .
You obviously are either a Venky appologist or know nothing about what is happening down at Ewood - the vast majority of senior pros HATE Kean (Robinson, Givet Nzonzi, Rochina especially) - so why would they want to stay at Rovers in the championship when they could all play in a higher division, possibly on more money ??
    .
As for Scott Dann - Rovers have been tryig to off-load him since last Dec (they were talking to AV in Jan) trying to get them to have him as they can't really afford the repayments on him and have realised that actually, he's crap anyway !
all you do J.C is assume or guess then pretend you know facts(which you don't) also you are very aggresive when you put your points across(which doesn't make you tough or correct), the point i was making if you care to listen is murphy has only come to rovers because he is on a bumper wage which 90% of the championship team would and could not pay which for me shows slight ambition from venky's not matter what.Teams like burnley or palace would love to have a midfielder like murphy(ask them because i have), and to accuse me of knowing nothing about football when you don't have a clue who i am is idioctic. Also reference to scott dann people who know football would also know that scott dann is a good player who has had a bad season. How do you know they can't afford repayments on him?Who has realised he's crap?I suppose your one of those who automatically compares us to leeds and portmouth and we will finish bottom aswel eh!How do you know all those contracted players will leave?Stop quoting things you know nothing about, your just guessing and assuming
Givet82 be careful having a go at JC Rishton, he went crying to the LET the other day trying to get some bloke kicked off the site when he didn't like what he had to say. If you rub him up the wrong way his dummy will come out again!
Over opinionated know it all clown.
Wow the Venky appologists ARE out in force.
    .
Who needs Dingles when when have so much SCUM of our own ??
    .
No wonder Venkys and Kean etc chose to buy our club - what other club has so many scum supporters as ours.
    .
I wonder why good people like Wayne Wild, Glen and Simon bother to try and save our club from owners who are killing us off when so many of you seem so happy with them as owners ??
grow up calling rovers fans SCUM j.c, you must be a jumped up insecure child.EVERYONE HAS THERE OWN OPIONION, the people who kill our proud club are the aggresive bullies like kean, just like you.If you listen for once no body one here is happy with the owners so stop spouting garbage"

UPDATE: Murphy to sign for Blackburn Rovers

Danny Murphy Danny Murphy

DANNY Murphy is expected to complete his move to Blackburn Rovers this afternoon.

As exclusively revealed in the Lancashire Telegraph this morning, Murphy underwent a medical last night and after having scans and agreeing personal terms he is now set to put pen to paper on a deal at the club.

The 35-year-old midfielder moves to Ewood Park following the end of his contract at Fulham.

The free transfer capture of Murphy would be a big coup for the Championship new boys as they look to earn an instant Premier League return.

Murphy did attract interest from Premier League Queens Park Rangers, while Fulham were also attempting to convince the former Liverpool man to stay at Craven Cottage for another season.

But the offer of a two-year deal and lucrative pay packet may have convinced Murphy that Ewood is the right place for him.

Murphy’s signature would give Rovers a boost in their bid to persuade other players there is a brighter future at the troubled East Lancashire outfit.

Newcastle striker Leon Best is understood to be mulling over a £2m move to Rovers after being told he had no future at St James Park.

Moves for Murphy and Best are the clearest sign that Anuradha Desai is giving under-fire boss Steve Kean a decent budget to strengthen his squad.

Rovers are also looking to bring in a Premier League midfielder on loan to provide extra energy in the centre of the park.

Junior Hoilett and Yakubu are still expected to quit Ewood this summer, while Steven Nzonzi, Martin Olsson, Mauro Formica, Gael Givet, Paul Robinson and Scott Dann will take some convincing to stay.

Murphy, who won nine full England caps, was born in Chester and started out as a trainee at Crewe Alexandra.

Many top flight clubs had their eye on Murphy before his eventual move to Liverpool.

Before he left, he helped Crewe get to the second flight of English football for the first time since the war as Crewe finished third in Division Two, before going on to defeat Brentford 1-0 at Wembley in the play-offs.

After seven years at Anfield Murphy moved to then-top flight Charlton Athletic before heading to Tottenham Hotspur and then across London to Craven Cottage in 2007.
