500 school children turn up on a Saturday to watch the torch

More than 500 children from Westholme in Blackburn turned up on their day off to watch the torch pass their school.

Westholme, in Preston New Road, was the first port of call for the Olympic torch as it came to Blackburn this morning.

And hundreds of enthusiastic youngsters turned out to see the historic occasion.
