Must be £3m tops. Most of the players contracts are probably a bigger liability than any fee we would get for them? I hope the Walker Trust did not sell them the land for Ewood and the Academy then at least they can't do more damage!

Morst as one fella said it took walkers three years to sell up, think it will take venkys a bit longer the state are clubs going to be in when were relegated. After today for me as the saying goes its all over, well it is now."

Community volunteers to receive Blackburn Rovers tickets

TWO hundred tickets for Blackburn Rovers last home game of the season will be given to community volunteers.

The football club donated the tickets to Blackburn with Darwen Council so the local authority could thank people who have come forward as part of its Your Call campaign.

The Your Call campaign was launched by the council to encourage people and community groups in the area to volunteer their time to clean up their area or take action against domestic abuse or road safety for example.

Councillors made the plea after they were forced to make millions of pounds worth of savings when the council’s budget was slashed.

The match against Wigan is taking place on Monday May 7.

As well as the tickets, groups are also being rewarded with the chance to apply for cash grants of £200 for Jubilee celebrations.

The grants are made up of funds from the council and other public sector, community and business partners.

Blackburn with Darwen Council leader Kate Hollern said: "I value our relationship with Blackburn Rovers, it's so important that we work together for the benefit of our borough.

“I am delighted that they too recognise the efforts of all the people who have taken steps to make a difference to their community through the Your Call campaign.

“The 200 tickets will be shared out fairly between the groups who have come forward so far.

"One of the strengths of our borough is that our public services work closely together. It's great that we can all come together despite the tough financial times to thank people who are helping to make the borough a better place.
