Givet should be in Blackburn Rovers starting line-up for crunch Canaries clash
2:16pm Friday 20th April 2012 in Sport
GAEL Givet is expected to return to Blackburn Rovers' starting line-up for tomorrow's crunch home clash against Norwich City following clear-the-air talks with manager Steve Kean.
Kean said at this afternoon's pre-match press conference that Frenchman Givet had been 'fantastic' in training all week and will be considered for selection.
Yakubu (Achilles) and Junior Hoilett (hamstring) had also shook off slight injuries and will also be available, but Martin Olsson is a slight doubt with a groin injury.
Grant Hanley is out for the rest of the season with an ankle ligament injury.

New Financial director Karen Silk was given the task of balancing the books in a savage cost cutting exercise. Players contracts were not renewed or cancelled, players were unable to play to save massive sums on appearance money.
Chris Samba was sold for twelve million pounds.
All very well and good but Blackburn Rovers are about to lose their Premiership status and according to the Premiership chief executive Richard Scudamore (above) that is worth 90 million pounds.
So correct me if I am wrong, but isn’t Karen Silk’s cost cutting false economics.
Or am I missing something?

BRFC action group are to hold a protest march against Venky’s ownership prior to Saturday’s game against Norwich. They say in their statement released via Sky Teletext.
“To the people of Blackburn this is no longer just about losing Football matches, this is about the very future of the football club and the very fabric of Blackburn. Our football club is a 137 year old institution which has seen its traditions and values destroyed in less than 18 months. “it takes only a few hands to bulldoze our club but it will take many hands to rebuild it and the whole community needs to come together to breathe life into Blackburn Rovers. Venky’s cannot make us feel inferior if we do not give them our consent, words divide us, action unites us and if we are unified there is nothing we cannot achieve”.
Fine words, well said and well meant.
Not being a member of BRFC action group may I be so bold as to offer a slogan for Saturday’s protests that will cut to the heart of the Rao family.
MADE IN LANCASHIRE, DESTROYED IN INDIA.
First used on my website 16th May 2011. Please feel free to adopt if deemed suitable. This slogan on large banners beamed back to India TV would rankle the arrogant Rao family and displease and Indian nation who are a very proud people.

Wigan seem to have lifted themselves out of the relegation zone following three wins from four games. But amazingly those games were against Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal with only Chelsea being an unlucky reverse result and condemning Blackburn Rovers to almost certain relegation. How Kean must have winced at Wigan’s fighting display against Arsenal following Rovers pathetic performance at Swansea. Whilst Wigan’s success is hard to take for Rovers fans at least this is a proper football club run for the fans by a brilliant Chairman in Ex-Rovers stalwart Dave Whelan (above) and a proper manager in Roberto Martinez, just like Rovers used to have in John Williams and Sam Allardyce.
Was their only me who lamented their departure in December 2010 and February 2011? I warned you all what would happen. I was scoffed at, I was ridiculed by all in sundry including former Rovers Striker Chris (I have a book to sell) Sutton. Lancashire telegraph editor Kevin (to inflammatory) Young who banned my opinions as being to ‘controversial and inflammatory’ as quoted in the Daily Mail.
Strange I haven’t heard from French Rover and other critics of late, they are probably singing another song now or licking their wounds.
My opinions are well documented and to my credit even brought fury from disgraced football agent Jerome (the man who ruined Blackburn Rovers) Anderson.
But I have been proven 100% correct in all opinion’s and forecast’s over the eighteen months since Venky’s bought Blackburn Rovers and sacked Sam Allardyce. I would rather have been 100% wrong but a little delving into peoples past and track records would have given forewarning of what was about to unfold at Ewood. Pity the Lancashire Telegraph could not have taken the time to do some investigative journalism.
Do not think the worse is over; do not think Rovers will bounce back into the Premiership. Worse is to follow, ignore my words at your peril, do not ignore me again. The only solution is first to remove Kean, Rovers are quickly becoming his own personal play thing, he is answerable to no one but himself, he is totally out of control. Any good club needs a good experienced football manager, Rovers have not got one. Secondly, somehow somebody has to get the Rao family to sell the club. I don’t know how that could be achieved. I can only suggest bringing pressure to bare on the Walker Trust to buy back the club in memory or Jack Walker or bring pressure to bare on Blackburn and Darwen town council to buy the club for the community as a community asset or bring pressure to bare on the Premier League itself by complaining that the Rao family are not fit and proper people to run the club. In a months’ time it will be the Football League we have to deal with once relegation is confirmed.
Unfortunately even well respected ex Rovers players Tony Parkes and Robbie Savage who originally agreed with my opinion’s and had strong opinions of their own regarding Kean and Venky’s have recently amazingly back tracked on their opinions. Only ex Rovers player Kevin Gallagher now a media pundit, has like me stuck to his guns and opinions.
My article BLACKBURN ROVERS A DISASTER WAITING TO HAPPEN posted on this website in March 2011 has proven to be very prophetic.

As previously mentioned I have sent back to Mr Paul Hunt deputy chief executive (above).
The request received to renew my season ticket along with a covering letter requesting the removal of Kean. I suggest you all do the same as a contribution to bring down this woeful regime. Actions speak louder than words, hit the Venky’s in the pocket. Kean is so far responsible for losing 5,000 spectators per game, more will follow. How can they afford to continually employ him?

Paul Jiggins writing in the Sun on Sunday 15th April following the Swansea game wrote “like all struggling clubs, everyone must hold up their hands, including the fans.
Who do they think they are? Man United? Complaining about a relegation fight is like a vegetarian complaining about a Venky chicken”.
No it isn’t Mr Jiggins. Rovers are in their twelfth consecutive season in the Premiership during which time we have had illustrious and well respected managers such as Graeme Souness, Mark Hughes and Sam Allardyce. We have qualified for Europe twice, been in two FA Cup Semi-finals, two Carling Cup semi-finals and won the Carling Cup (formerly Worthington) final 2002.Never finished lower than 15th and that was a one off and are used to a top ten finish.
So no Mr Jiggins we do not think we are Man Utd but neither do we expect to be firmly implanted in the bottom three most of the season and heading for relegation. So a little more respect and a little less sarcasm if you please Mr Jiggins.

Blackburn’s disaster of a manager, Steve Kean should leave Ewood immediately.
His position has become even more untenable than it was. Never mind his dismal record; the worse ever in history by a Blackburn manager, it is his continued lies and deceit that condemn him.
We do not want such a dishonourable man in charge of our famous club.
His latest tirade was to ‘play his usual blame game’ by blaming Gael Givet for the dismal surrender at Swansea, stating Givet refused to play. Kean later back tracked on that statement by saying “Givet’s head was not right to play”.
Givet countered Kean’s statement by issuing his own on Wednesday on Sky Teletext it read “I wanted to play. I wish to make it clear that I have never refused to play for Blackburn Rovers. It was manager Steve Kean who decided which players would be selected for the match at Swansea”. If ever a statement condemns a manager as being an out and out liar this one does. And I know who I prefer to believe.
This is the latest in a long line of lies and untruths from Steve (the man who cannot win football matches) Kean, how many more do we have to put up with?
Kean’s misleading statements are too many to list, we all know them but here are a just a few reminders.
On Ryan Nelson’s unexplained departure in January Kean said “he is not fit to play football”. One week later Nelson was playing for Spurs against Stevenage in the FA Cup on a very difficult pitch, the match was televised and Nelson nominated man of the match. Nelson has been a regular member of Spurs squad since, making several full appearances and cameos from the bench. How Rovers have needed him.
Kean stated Chris Samba would not be sold but once Samba blasted Kean and the owners by exposing the farce behind the scenes at Ewood, Samba was swiftly sold for twelve million pounds. Kean applauded the sale saying “at least everyone here now wants to be here”. Something I very much doubt.
Even in Crown Court and on oath during his drink drive prosecution Kean was at it again. Stating his drinks had been spiked in the Ewood board room. A suggestion quickly dismissed by the judge saying there was no evidence what so ever to support Kean’s claim.
You see Kean plays the ‘blame’ game, nothing is ever his fault.
He has very cleverly laid his get ‘out of jail’ plans once Rovers are relegated. The majority of blame will levelled at the fans and their protests as being disruptive to the team. But let us not forget these protests did not start until late December when Rovers were marooned at the foot of the table.
Hence Kean’s much publicised and hyped body guard, totally unnecessary and a waste of money. Another example of Kean playing the blame game and milking public sympathy from a gullible media.
I could go on and on, but it gets tiresome my thoughts and opinions of Kean are well documented on my website, www.regoftherovers.c
o.uk
At first nobody took much notice, now everyone including my 22,000 followers can see through this fraud that is apart from Mrs Anuradha (I like to be entertained) Desai and her useless brothers Ventkatesh and Balaji.
Any man who knives in the back the man who took him from the dole que and gave him a good job, as Kean did to Allardyce is despicable.
Let us not forget this is the man who has seen two assistants leave him in less than a year, this is the man who has seen ten senior players sold in less than a year, or have their contract’s cancelled. Some have spoken out against Kean such as Samba, Andrews, Diouf, and Roberts others have picked up their severance pay and been glad to leave in silence.
Can anyone work with Kean, certainly former chairman John William’s couldn’t, he stated so to Mrs Anuradha Desai in February 2011 and departed soon after that. Let us not forget John Williams had worked in harmony with the likes of Graeme Souness, Mark Hughes and Sam Allardyce over the past fourteen years and with no problems. Two months of Kean was too much for him to stomach.
This man should leave Ewood immediately if Blackburn Rovers are to have any future.
At least the team would have half a chance in their last two home games against Norwich and Wigan, the supporters would be lifted, the gloom would be gone, as it is Norwich and Wigan are away bankers !

Blackburn Wants Its Rovers Back
Published on April 20, 2012 by Committee in Uncategorized
Written by Andrew Howells.
Whether Blackburn Rovers will be in the Premier League or the Championship next season evidently doesn’t matter to their Indian owners, Venky’s. As the protests against their ownership continue with the launch of a supporters trust, intent on bringing the club back into community ownership, Andrew Howells examines just why Venky’s seem so set on ruining Rovers.
The obvious questions around Allardyce’s sacking, Kean’s appointment and false promises of investment aside; the one thing that surely nobody in the footballing world can comprehend is why the owners – as Rovers plunge, potentially Championship-bound, into more and more misery – are set on destroying the club faster than Mario Balotelli can light up a bathroom full of fireworks. One theory I’d like to examine is that the chicken farmers have bought the club to use as a short-term marketing tool to grow their business. With this in mind, is it suddenly slightly easier to see why Venky’s are cost-cutting at Rovers at every opportunity, investing instead in their poultry business?
Evidence of ‘fowl’ play
“We want good football and Blackburn to be fourth or fifth in the league or even better. The fans should trust us because this is in the best interests of the club”, said Mrs Anuradha Desai, Venky’s chief in December 2010. This statement happened to coincide with not only the sacking of Sam Allardyce, but also the launch of Venky’s Exprs, a ready to eat chicken outlet, in Bihar, India. Former manager Allardyce was on a reported £1.25 million a year when Venky’s took over. As his replacement they appointed Steve Kean, a man with no prior experience of managing a football club, on a reported £350,000 a year. That’s a £900,000 a year saving. One troubled year later, in December 2011, and Kean, who appears to be the Venky’s ‘yes man’, was reportedly instructed to no longer play experienced defender Michel Salgado. This is because if he plays one more game it will activate a clause in his contract, giving him an extra year at the club. This incident occurred around the same time as the owners posted an annual pre-tax loss of £18.6m (compared to £1.9 million the previous year), and it was not a one-off. As local Lancashire Telegraph journalist Andy Cryer points out: “Chris Samba, Keith Andrews, El-Hadji Diouf, Jason Roberts, Michel Salgado and now Gael Givet have seen ‘issues’ stop them from playing at the football club when they were needed most.” Are these all finance related as well? Perhaps the most interesting evidence to support my theory however, is Venky’s decision to not appoint a Chairman. Instead they are content to ‘run’ the club from India. Surely you need a Chairman; someone who understand’s the game, the business and who can be based at the club full-time to run things? Rovers’ all-time top scorer Simon Garner, who has recently joined the Blackburn Rovers Supporters Investment Trust (BRSIT) campaign to bring the club back into community ownership, thinks so: “The way to stop the mess is by appointing a Chairman to run the club the right way. The last 12 months have shown you can’t run an English club from India.”
Bad guidance?
Despite how plausible it seems, I cannot believe that anyone would intentionally destroy a football club, and Wigan Chairman and former Blackburn player Dave Whelan has offered a slightly more realistic theory: he claims Venky’s simply ‘don’t understand football’. I would say they don’t understand football as a game, a business or a community. The Venky’s completed their takeover with the guidance of football agent Jerome Anderson, who continues to be involved in the running of the club and who interestingly counts then first team coach, Steve Kean, as a client. Are the owners, blind to the ways of our beautiful game, simply receiving bad advise then? Commenting on Anderson’s involvement in running Rovers, Sir Alex Ferguson, said: “Jerome Anderson? He couldn’t pick his nose. It’s baffling, and it’s a serious threat to how clubs are run and how they conduct themselves.”
The urgent need for change.
Whatever the reasons for Venky’s actions to date, they must begin to listen to the fans – who pay their money week in, week out, season after season – and urgently communicate their intentions, vision and strategy for the club. If Venky’s have bought the club to expand and make a success of their poultry business, they must understand that to do so they have to also make a success of Blackburn Rovers. British football is a family and if they ruin Rovers, surely nobody will buy their products. If they simply don’t understand football, then they need to be big enough to hold their hands up and say so, bring sensible people into key roles who do understand the game (such as a Chairman) and admit they do not wish to invest much money. You don’t need money to be successful – look at Swansea, Fulham and Norwich – but as owners, you must demonstrate you care about the club, its fan base and its local community. So, 17 seasons on from lifting a Premier League title, a cloud of concern, uncertainty and despair looms over Ewood Park. One thing is clear though: change is needed. Venky’s need to finally listen to the protests, take note of what the fans have to say, and start to act in the best interests of the club – not just their poultry business. Blackburn fans will not stand by and watch their club destroyed; they will fight to save it; and they will take drastic action if needs be. Venky’s be warned: Blackburn wants its Rovers back.

PROPER CLUB, PROPER MANAGER AND PROPER CHAIRMAN

The only rational explanation of Venkys buying Rovers in the first place was marketting their business. And its worked, all now know who Venkys are.
They will suffer if they 'harm' BRFC ? I don't think so, the only outlets to suffer would be the one on Ewood, at the m'way junction and in the Mall. Thats as far as anyone else is concerned enough not to buy.
Burnleys outlet will more
than compensate that loss!
As for in Manch, Birm, London etc. you don't honestly think anyone gives a fig for BRFC!
The accounts are over in India, so I am none too sure whether HMRC will realise their total dues.
Losses? they have sold on a very healthy poundsworth of players and put very little back.
Unfamiliar with English Football too right they are. But, to manipulate a business to their advantage, I am sure they are well versed.
