Accrington Stanley match frozen off

ACCRINGTON Stanley's home match against Oxford United has been postponed because of a frozen pitch.

The game had been scheduled to take place at the Crown Ground tomorrow but an inspection was held this morning and it was decided that the fixture could not go ahead.

Stanley said: "An inspection of the Crown Ground surface by a local official appointed by the Football League this morning found that despite the covers being on the surface was unplayable.

"The decision to inspect was taken at the earliest opportunity to take into account the distance our opponents had to travel and the forecast weather for the next 24 hours."

The game will now be played on Tuesday, March 27 at 7.45pm.
