Kean: The fans are behind us
9:07am Friday 4th November 2011 in Sport
By Andy Cryer, Blackburn Rovers reporter
BOSS Steve Kean
STEVE Kean believes his players are solely focusing on shocking Chelsea tomorrow after insisting the vast majority of Blackburn Rovers fans are behind the team and him.
The under fire Rovers boss has said the banning of flags and banners inside Ewood Park tomorrow had nothing to do with him as he concentrates on guiding his side out of the Premier League relegation zone.
A small section of home fans are planning on conducting a pre match protest against owners venky’s and a post match demonstration against Kean inside Ewood Park, but the Rovers boss insists they won’t let that distract from their priority.
He said: “I’ve just let the people at Ewood, the directors and safety officers make sure that it’s a safe environment for the owners and the players.
“The only thing I can say is we have always felt the vast majority of the fans are behind the team and we feel that the travelling fans have been excellent as well. It is always the majority we take the vibe from and most people in the ground seem to be getting behind the side and I am delighted about that.
“We have a good group of players who are professional enough to put these things out of our minds. We feel as though the majority of the fans are strongly behind the players and myself.
“We can’t let the small minority get to the stage where it’s annoying anybody. We want to do our talking on the pitch and we should have back to back wins.
“I’ve been looking for the last six or seven months for a new house and I’ve seen a few nice ones. We’ll see.”

Just zip it and buy a book on coaching a defense. Sit in a corner, read it (or look at the pictures) and TRY and learn something!

The club especially Paul Hunt is trying its (his) best to split the fans by coming out with statements such as fear of Counter protests etc, just who the hell do they think they are?
This in ancient times gone by was often known as divide and conquer.
I appeal to all Rovers fans whatever side of the fence you sit on do not fall for this BS from Paul Hunt who for me is a little weasel trying his utter most best to have us all turn on each other and anyone who can not see this is a fool!

For the final time, the fans are behind the players - this constant spin is at best misguided at worst downright lies...it is you, you arrogant, incompetent jagaloon that we cannot abide. Nothing personal - we just don't like the fact that under you, relegation is certainty.

"the majority of the fans are strongly behind the players AND MYSELF"
That's a fairly strong endictment on the Blackburn fans to suggest that the majority condone deceit, delusion, drink-driving and that they are happy to accept the contempt that you and Venkys regard them with. Happy people, beautiful people indeed.
If you can only manage a draw I would suggest that you let Chelsea score first. And let somebody else make the tactical substitutions.......
...maybe that old bloke that sits on the second row in the Jack Walker Lower.

im not a kean hater. just a fan, who can't no matter how hard i try build a case for giving kean support. we are yet to beat a team that isn't in bad form (this includes last season).
we should remember if chelsea best us this weekend and if arsenal hadn't scored two own goals, then we would be no wins in eleven games. admittedly we were unlucky in the everton and norwich games, but it can also be said that we got lucky in the arsenal and fulham games. which equates to we deserve to have 2 more points than we actually have.
his record must be on a par with brian law's record at burnley, despite having a better team and more money to spend.

But we don't!
From now on the only words I want to hear from Kean's mouth are:
"That was a great win today"
"I'm delighted Junior's signed a new 5 year contract"
or alternatively,
"I resign"

I think he just says what he thinks a manager should say. Same with substitutions - he always makes them at the same time. He just does what he thinks a manager should. He's like a 5yr old on Championship Manager.

I have seen signs of improvement in the teams performance and I want to see that continue.
.
The owners have made it fairly clear to all that they still support the man that they appionted, so any protest is futile. The owners know that some fans aren't happy and they aren't bothered, so get the message.
.
Kean has improved the playing staff over the last 12m.
.
I can't remember the last time that we were 2nd up on MoTD, before both Utd and L'pool.
.
With the fans FULL support this team of young players can upset the apple cart tomorrow and rip Chelsea apart.
.
Every ex-Rovers player that has written in the press has stated how any protest is a negative and distracts from a players preparation. I urge the protestors who 100% support the team to think about what our own ex-players are saying before protesting. I also urge them to respect our owners views and I ask every last man to stand up and show these chelsea pensioners what its going to be like for teams coming to Ewood from now on.
.
Steve Kean, you have assembled a team capable of crushing chelsea tomorrow, so do it.
.
I hope we win 4 nil tomorrow and then we can put all this negativity behind us.

It is all aimed at YOU SK and Venky s to a degree. In any work place, the quality of work ethic and productivity from the employees is completely dependent on the quality of management - a fair balance of high yet realistic expectation, toughness where due (see Mark Hughes for expert advice there!!!) and definite personal boundaries that must not be crossed into the pally pally). We have a squad of real potential which is crying out for experience, a no nonsense approach, and a manager who is honest and with the integrity to say "That was not aceptable play", or even less likely from Kean, "I was wrong, I made the wrong call, I need to learn". If only he realised that honesty and humility would win him perhaps just a little more respect and sympathy! Doubt it ll happen though. Really hope the players do understand that we re not against them, and that we just want somone to shape them to their full potential. Cmon Rovers on Sat. Play for the badge and for your self respect and the place will buzz for you.
Give it a rest liar. Nothing to do with you that the banners are banned...nothing to do with you that we have only won 6 of 31, nothing to do with you Sam left, nothing to do with you John Williams left, nothing to do with you John Jensen left, nothing to do with you Junior won't sign...what exactly are you doing? The fans themselves are 100% behind the team, they will support whoever plays in blue and white. But, they cannot support a manager whose record speaks for itself. No football manager has ever in the past let themselves be humiliated so much without resigning. But there is no chance of Steve Kean doing the honourable thing because he knows he will never get another top job in football after his abysmal record that has seen Blackburn Rovers plunging headlong into relegation.
But tomorrow I will be there doing my bit to encourage the players to win win win!

I have said this before and I will keep saying it - there are a significant number of fans who have voted with their feet and stopped going to games, this must be many thousands. For my own part my family has boycotted since the start of the season by not renewing our 16 year old season ticket renewals - that's 5 fans - 5 fans that kept tickets when relegated, we are not fickle we just do not agree that Kean should be Manager. Let them who are without sin cast the first stone but the reality is that any business would have dismissed Kean for his recent criminal conviction - its a fact. I am a business leader for one of the UK's biggest companies - I know had I been convicted and not been truthful during police investigations I would have been dismissed. I struggle to understand why an organisation like Venky's with their cultural beliefs did not do the same - there has to be another reason. I do not buy "give the guy a chance", couple the conviction with his very poor performance and he would be a certainty in any organisation to be dismissed - so why not when employed by the Venky's?
I truely believe that any fan that does not agree with the way the club is being run should boycott games. if you have paid for your season ticket ny direct debit - cancel the direct debit, the credit company will have a charge back mechanism to the club. Yes they will chase you but I would write to them and detail why you have cancelled - all the broken promises made by the club, the fact that you are no longer allowed to express your views in the ground by use of a flag and that you have integrity concerns regarding how your money is being used.
Some will not agree and I accept that and I will never be critical of other fans that continue to go to games - its an individual choice but this club is now trying to pitch fan against fan - that has never happened in the history of this club. It is also obvious that the message to the owners is that they will be in danger at the ground - they are attempting to present the protesters as thugs - I can assure them I am not a thug, never have been never will be but I can not be a fan of the current regime at the club & they are a regime. The fact is that Blackburn Rovers is no longer the Blackburn Rovers I have supported all my life - to be fair I'm not sure what it is, I'm not certain who owns it or who controls it
There is no way Kean will resign, he does not have the personal integrity or stature in the game to do that.
The only way I can protest is to continue my boycott.

You people really should listen to yourselves! Anyone remember Keith Andrews, a Blackburn Rovers player who was hounded out of the club by the 'fans'. Thankfully, the protestors remain a minority - leave it to the majority of the fans to support 'The Club', rather than cherry pick those that are in favour at that point in time.
1) Opta released a stat before last season that JR touched the ball less often than any other PL player last season, averaging once every 3.03 minutes (for a big man up front!!)
2) He SLOWS DOWN whenever he thinks he has to make a tackle. He's made 1 challenge so far this season. Watch closely (if you do watch games) and look. It's blindingly obvious. So obvious that a friend of mine who plays in the PL was telling me they identified it ;) "if you're on the ball and you see Roberts coming towards you don't panick. You've got time because he'll slow down to avoid making the tackle"
3) He hasn't won a header yet this season (to my knowledge)
4) His "distance covered" stats are pretty woeful
So yes, if I pay money the least I want to see is effort and whilst he may fool you he doesn't fool many people

The bottom line in football is that it's a results business and Kean is not getting them.
I don't expect to win on Sunday, but I did expect something against Wolves, Everton, Villa, Fulham and more against QPR and Norwich. As we didn't get results, we now need points against teams far stronger than us.
Kean's problem is that he can't keep his mouth shut and either can't see or refusus to address the main problem that many fans don't trust him with a team he's managed only 6 league wins with. He's had very nearly a full season in charge and I'd be surprised to if any manager is still employed with a worse points per games record than his during this period.
I don't think he's that stupid. He must realise the fans are against him, but would like to deflect this towards the players and the club in an attempt to protect his job.
Don't paint the fans as the villans Steve, they were here before you and a number will return when you're gone.
The best way to silence the fans it to get the team to defend properly. After all that is your job...

Personel, both good and bad, will come and go but the club will still go on and needs supporters to be there and support the club.
The tripe you come out with about the drink driving is embarressing! Unless you cannot do your job without a licence then a company would not have the right to dismiss you for this alone. As a "Business Leader" for one of the "UK's biggest companies" I would have expected you to know that !
So you go on and continue your boycott and stay away but maybe in doing that should you have any "right" to make comments about the club?
I am sure as a Business Leader you must make decisions that some of you customers may not like, but in doing so you think you are doing what is best for your business in the long term. This is just what Venkys are doing, they own the club and have this right, whether some fans agree with their decisions or not, doesnt really matter !

You people really should listen to yourselves! You say that you support the team, but thats not what I hear in the Blackburn End when Jason Roberts, Pederson and Petrovic are constantly getting slatted! Anyone remember Keith Andrews, a Blackburn Rovers player who was hounded out of the club by the 'fans'. Thankfully, the protestors remain a minority - leave it to the majority of the fans to support 'The Club', rather than cherry pick those that are in favour at that point in time.

You don't exactly hear Steve Keans blue and white army sung at the match like every other manager we have had in the past 10 years.
Paul Ince was 10x more respected than you and he was in a similar position as you but he respected the fans just as equally.
I don't think anybody would be protesting right now if it wasn't for his comments I think people would accept him more if he just showed some respect.
Supposably Venkys keep him because he is 'a nice man' but nice people don't slag off their paying customers.

If we'd scored two penalties against Everton and not been given those two late abominable penalties against us in the Everton and Norwich games, we would have FIVE more points and not be doing too bad at all considering we've lost Phil Jones, Ryan Nelsen and David Dunn.
The facts are that Rovers still have the most exciting crop of young players coming through in 50 years.
We are scoring goals (remember the penniless 0-0 days of Howard Kendall which cost us promotion).
And Big Fat Sham would never have tried to play this enterprising, entertaining style of football.
Central defensive injuries permitting, our away form isn't bad, so if only the fans who keep mouthing off at home would only get behind the team we might have had a few more points that way, too.
Football is all about confidence (see Chelsea), so the self-defeating pessimists determined to sink the club into the Championship would do well to remember that.
Hell, it's not so long ago since the boo-boys were after Jason Wilcox and Mark Atkins.
Now who would have thought they would have gone on to become Premiership title medal holders the way the unintelligent, pathetic, moronic, scumbag minority used to boo them before King Kenny arrived?

if i was going to be very charitable, i could say the pro kean luvvies are backing kean because they feel sacking him would drain confidence further and as there is nobody (adequate who would come) to take kean's place, would leave us worse off than we are now.
This though is wrong because from what I have read over the last few weeks, would suggest that many fans are delighted with the season’s performances and feel the club is progressing well under kean. can somebody enlighten me why!!!!, alright for the money spent kean has delivered on the quality of signings, but if we do go down they will all end up leaving in a cut price fire sale.

When did you last hear Kean apologise, never, not even in front of a magistrate for drink driving.. his excuse "someone spiked my drink".. I'm sure he would have blamed hoillet or even the venkys if it would have got him off. He has always had a good reason to avoid taking the blame for some crass performances, yes, there has been improvement over the last few games, but no improvement in results. Finally, I know every manager is ultimately out for themselves, but Kean is o glaringly blatant about it, he cares as much about the Rovers as your average Burnley fan, he has anevery facet of the club, from loyal staff who could see the writing on the wall, to alienating himself from a large part of the fan base and showing complete disdain for freedom of speech and expression by being behind this draconian approach of banning placards and banners from this weeks match. I am sure that other managers , no matter how poor previous to kean, would have done the decent thing and resigned by now. He has to go...and soon

There has never been a better time for us to come up against Chelski, as they are not playing well, also lack confidence and as total underdogs we should have no pressure.
If we lose SK will still be in charge because we are not expected to win anyway but his position becomes even more untenable amongst the fans (and perhaps the club?) but out of interest what if we do win, which I'm sure we all hope, will he then not deserve another chance.... ?

I firmly believe that Steve Kean is out of his depth in the premier league and that we would attract better players during the transfer window with a more experienced and reputable manager. However, the run of bad results is as much to blame on the players as it is Kean, its just somehow more socially acceptable to be a football fan who targets and blames a manager for every loss, but congratulates the players for every win. Morst Enterprises Ltd is pleased to announce its special “REHAB” course to help Rovers fans like Jeppo, Billypieman and Bazzer etc who are suffering from Hoofball Withdrawal symptoms.
The course consists of 3 stages -
Week 1 – A trip in a hot air balloon sponsored by SCAB (Society for Cruelty Against Balls) This will enable the fans to acclimatise themselves with what it is like to spend a lot of time two hundred feet up in the air.
Week 2 – Neck repair. A week sat in the away section at Newcastle FC. The craning of the neck to lookdown and see any action will repair damage cause by 18 months on looking skywards under Big Sam.
Week 3 – after the rehab treatment comes the Shock treatment. The 3rd week will be spent in training sessions with Messi, Xavi, Iniesta and Fabregas at Barcelona. Patients will learn again about the benefits of pass and move and fizzing a ball along the turf with the skill of the foot (hence the name of the game). Also they will watch a special video of the history and success of Blackburn Rovers over 130 years of playing this style.

In normal cicumstances this would be seen as a rallying call before a big game. Chelsea played mid week away in Europe and have the racist issue affecting moral and so we should all be behind the team and hope for an upset. . They have a lot of older players so we need our young lads to run their socks off and Get Into Em - both the fans and team. Any protests after the game if you must. . For me its the 6 games that follow this game that will be the test for Kean and I bet the Venky's know that also. . 33rd...........

Rovers Boss Steve Kean has become increasingly under pressure from a significant number of Rovers supporters after only claiming 6 victories in 31 games as Manager. With Rovers currently sat in the bottom three and on a run of 16 games without a clean sheet, Kean will be hoping for a similar level of performance which saw Rovers beat Arsenal in their only victory in the league so far this season.
Blackburn's inability to keep clean sheets is coming around as often as Protest as the supporters have for the fourth home game in a row organised a demonstration which will be aimed at the Manager Steve Kean for his results, but for the first time will also be aimed at the clubs owners Venkys who are rumoured to be attending the game.
Earlier in the week the club carried out a risk assessment with the help of the Police and from a result of this deemed that Banners in the ground would carry a Health and Safety threat to people attending the game, so therefore supporters would not be able to take the banners into the ground, until the end of the match, when they could be collected from Ewood Parks security office providing supporters handed them over in good faith. This decision was made when the club received Intel that counter protests may occur in the ground should a 45 minute sit in protests take place.
The organisers evaluated the situation and we can now exclusively bring you the full details.
PRE MATCH
Supporters are being asked to bring either a red, white or blue balloon to the game. When the teams are about to kick off all supporters are being asked to blow their balloons up and put a message on each balloon which is aimed at Venkys e.g. 'Venkys sort it out'.
It is the protestors hope that these will be set off as the referee starts the game around the ground. It will be a visual protests aimed at the owners Mis-Management of the club to date.
In addition supporters will be wearing T-Shirts showing their disapproval of the Manager, Whilst Human Banners will be placed in each stand with different messages aimed at the owners and the Manager.
During Thursday the Rent a Plane and Banner campaign got into full swing as kind hearted Rovers supporters donated in the space of a couple of hours nearly a thousand pounds. This covered the costs of the plane which is set for Ewood come Saturday
At some point during the game the Plane is expected to fly over Ewood Park with a visual message. Rovers supporters are being asked to stand with the arms outstretched singing the theme tune to the blockbuster movie 'The Dam Busters' until the plane leaves the area.
POST MATCH
After the match Supporters will hold another 45 Minute sit-in protests calling for the Managers removal. Individuals are being asked to make their way to the Ronnie Clayton Blackburn End after the game, where re-entry to the ground will be allowed for the purpose of the sit-in. In addition people can then bring banners into the ground which have been left at the security office at Ewood
Vitals very own Glen Mullan who is one of the Co-Organisers of the Protest issued this statement.
'The balloon protest is a visual message to the owners that supporters are not best pleased with the how the first 12 months have gone under the Indian Poultry Giants. The club has taken giant strides backwards and the supporters have never felt so distanced from the club in its 136 year proud history. We are hopeful the balloons will also raise the roof atmosphere wise as we all try and cheer the team onto three important points. The effort the supporters put in to raise the funds for the Plane and Banner in such a short space of time shows the unity and togetherness of the supporters behind the protest movement. The group has been galvanised by the restrictions imposed upon them by the club and members of the group has rose by 10% in the last few days. Simon Littler and I have negotiated hard all week with the club and the Police to ensure that supporters are still allowed their right to protests. Although we have had a few obstacles to overcome we are delighted to have found an alternative way to have a visual protest which will be seen by the Venkys. Interim talks have opened up with the club regarding some of the supporter concerns; however there is a lot to be done before the group will consider calling a halt to the protest. The Organising team has also had some feedback from anti-protestors and have taken their issue's on board and these will be discussed and taken into account should another protest be needed in Rovers next game'

The Greeks can riot, you can occopy the front of St Pauls to protest against the bankers, but seemingly Rovers fans cannot protest according to Kean and the Rovers mangement.
No surprise that players are right behind boss - anyone recall any statement from any player in any team saying "players NOT behind boss!"
Also, you may have been seeing the re-runs of Sir Alex's first interview as United manager 25 years ago - modest, to the point, not mouthy - can someone please send Keano a copy.

simongarnerswindowclGood sensible post….think it might be lost on some though (their hatred of Kean is effecting the old brain cells !:- )…..also, not to mention the Wolves home game, when the team had no defence ….I reckon at least six extra points should/could easily have been gained extra ….meaning 9th in the table……..the smartarse will retort with what load of utter claptrap -which just shows they are incapable of looking for positives…..takes all sorts!…. Reasonable fans can see the team is a long way from being adrift, improved performance hopefully will bring better results, just around the comer!

After feasting beyond our means on caviar at the top table for all but two seasons since 1992, what a bunch of miserable moaners so many Rovers fans have become. Come on you Blues!
.
The ‘haters’ (don’t class them ‘Kean haters‘ they hate anyone with a different opinion to themselves, unfortunately they have jumped on the protesters bandwagon, shame really because lots of the protesters are genuine Rovers fans, whom only want what’s best for the club) can’t or won’t comprehend that some results and decision were totally unfair and so exacerbates our current position.

Rovers17 wrote: Once again I am left astounded by the immaturity of Kean, the club really does need to get a grip of him - looks like they are not going to sack him so at the very least stop him talking to the press. In my opinion he is now obviously trying to wind up the fans, I would guess that even those that where supportive of him are getting sick and tired of his comments. The fact is that Blackburn Rovers is no longer the Blackburn Rovers I have supported all my life - to be fair I'm not sure what it is, I'm not certain who owns it or who controls it There is no way Kean will resign, he does not have the personal integrity or stature in the game to do that. The only way I can protest is to continue my boycott. It is your choice not to attend but your non attendance indicates that maybe you are not a supporter of the club? Like you have said you you have had a season ticket when previously relegated so why stop now? Yes Kean may take us down again but that may happen with any manager, as it has done before, but if you really support a club it should be through all the ups and downs.
Ref the comment around the relegation season -The difference this time to the relegation season is that I trusted the owner of the club then, an owner who dealt with issues.
Am I not embarrassed that I mention the conviction - not at all, I also stand by my assertion that most companies would dismiss based on this - I will concede some accuracy in what you say in respect of this - I was referencing Senior Leaders when making my assertion, without doubt a Senior Leader that brought their organisation into disrepute would be dismissed. Steve Kean is a senior leader at the club. Would any business come out and say "we've dismissed because of x,y, z - No, an agreement is reached and suddenly someone resigns
I agree Venky's have the right to do with their club what they want, I have the right to react to what they do how I want - which I have. I will continue to express my views - I dont crticise you for continuing to go to games, thats the beauty of living in a democracy, the right to do what you want and even protest if you see fit, although at 3pm tomorrow the democatic rights of Rovers Fans are suspended. Good luck hope 3 points are in the bag

This poem is all the inspiration i need to keep on fighting for the future of this football club, because this man gave us a future - AND WE OWE IT HIM TO FIGHT!!
I have never written a poem before, I don’t see any point in rhyme
it never appeals to us working class, it’s just a waste of time.
Well now its abit different, I need to tell you how I feel
and in some small way pay tribute to the Blackburn man of steel.
Its vital not to miss the point, footballs not just a bit of fun,
its pride and passion, skill and strength all rolled into one.
It’s not about Man Utd, Chelsea or some foreign fancy Dan,
Its Blackburn, Preston, Burnley, that’s where it all began.
Where what you see is what you get, but don’t show how you feel
but I'm making my exception for the Blackburn Man of Steel.
I really need to thank him for the pride he gave us back
just for a while we were the best, Thanks to Uncle Jack!
Few people have the vision to make a dream come true
The beauty of Jack Walker’s was - We got an invite to
Some saw him as a rich old man who bought a winning team
But for me they miss the point, he gave us all our dream!!
I think its maybe true to say it could not last forever
But then again Im sure, its better once than never!
And even if those winning ways never do come back
they can’t take away our memories, Thanks to Uncle Jack!!
Hendry, Sutton, Batty, Shearer - the names run off the tongue
But 'THERE'S ONLY ONE JACK WALKER' is still the Rovers song
So forget the players agents and smart Armani Suits
Raise a glass to Uncle Jack, A man who knew his roots.
That is absolutely fantastic, and sums my feelings up perfectly. I simply cannot sit back and do nothing, and just watch Venky's and Steve Kean, systematically destroy everything that this great man built. It would be an insult to his memory to do so.

Let us imagine for one moment that Rovers supporters were so delighted with the Venky ownership and Kean was doing a good job as manager thus resulting banners around the ground proclaiming the supporters satisfaction, lets us say for example, KEAN IS KING or VENKYS FOREVER and so on, you get the idea!
Do you think for one moment the powers that be at the club would be BANNING THE BANNERS, in the supposed interest of health and safety?
NO, NEITHER DO I.
The Venkys are going down a dangerous road banning peaceful protest, BE WARNED.
This could lead to anarchy. Already we have had a nasty confrontation with fans and assistant manager Paul Clement at the Rovers dug out during the Newcastle game.
It is far better for a controlled and peaceful demonstration within the confides of Ewood Park than taking to the public highway outside the ground or the rural lanes around Rovers Brockhall training complex.
I am surprised the police have not stepped in to advise the club in this matter. Then again who do the arrogant Rao family ever listen to? Except the discredited agent Jerome Anderson.
Any unruly behaviour or disturbance of the peace around Ewood on Saturday, Venkys and the police authorities will be partly to blame for banning the peaceful protest in a controlled environment.
Let’s us hope for everyone’s sake the day passes peacefully.

Come on you Blues!Good sensible post….think it might be lost on some though (their hatred of Kean is effecting the old brain cells !:- )…..also, not to mention the Wolves home game, when the team had no defence ….I reckon at least six extra points should/could easily have been gained extra ….meaning 9th in the table……..the smartarse will retort with what load of utter claptrap -which just shows they are incapable of looking for positives…..takes all sorts!…. Reasonable fans can see the team is a long way from being adrift, improved performance hopefully will bring better results, just around the comer!

Yes he isnt the best manager in the world, but he certainly isnt the worst, remember Brian Kidd, Jim Iley & those are just at Rovers.
Surely its about the team, and like it or not Kean is part of the team, and we should support the team including him until the owners decide to relieve him of his position.
Start tomorrow, support all the team and lets take three points from Chelsea.

Any protests after the game if you must. . For me its the 6 games that follow this game that will be the test for Kean and I bet the Venky's know that also. . 33rd...........
.
But that did not happen and so having had the job of changing the Bombardment style of BS (be fair - not easy?) to proper football and having signed 11 players in August + Rochina and Formica ready many fans think you have to give them 3 months to gell? There are signs of it in recent games and the players are definitely trying. For me the test is the next 6 games after Chelsea - it is Keans Waterloo.

But please if change is needed in late Nov / Dec let it be a quality manager who can play the BRFC way?

I'm sure Kean's comments are really aimed at Pune to big himself up in Venky's eyes. However once again he misses the point. Obviously the fans are behind the team and the club - they wouldn't be fans paying out hard earned cash if they weren't. There may be disagreement about the wisdom of protests and Kean Out chants at matches but I'm quite sure if Kean was sacked today and replaced by a decent manager there would be very few complaints from protesters or non protesters alike.
These daily spin-doctor statements by Kean are clearly aimed at his beloved bosses. Twisting most of the fans booing him to: "they're booing the team, but I'll protect them". And the now infamous "99% of the fans are behind us". We're ALWAYS behind the team Keano, just not you.
Whenever we have a dire performance like we did away at Newcastle "we're unlucky, we played excellently in the first half". All statements aimed to show the bosses in Pune all is well. In fact, has Kean EVER once said we didn't play well in the year he's been here? I can't remember it. Funny that, considering we've only bloody won 6 out of 31 games under him.
It will be very interesting against Chelsea as Venkys reps will be at the game for the first time in a while. Hence, why Steve Kean in a panic is suddenly banning all banners. They will finally hear the true voice of Ewood and that we want this imposter GONE from our club and a real manager appointed.

Steve Kean should be sacked for his lack of respect towards Rovers fans alone. He is clearly the luckiest person ever to have a PL Managers job. His record is appalling and his decisions have cost us more points than they have won. Without a doubt he would have been sacked by any other club in any other league by now.
If BRFC won the league; Kean would still have no respect from me as he has not earned any. The majority of fans (at the moment) follow the Rovers with a blind love. This is the only reason that the demonstrators are a minority. Most individuals are pacifists and prefer to avoid confrontation. Of the remaining few some just don't have the balls to stand up for what they believe in.
The facts speak for themselves, his record is the worst in PL history. We will loose Junior for buttons due to his mismanagement and the future is looking very bleak.
Yes we do have some great players, but Kean is not the man to manage this once proud club.

First ever post, been watching Rovers since the 70's and followed my Dad there. In life it's easy to follow the sheep and be negative, things appear to be true if everyone says they are. If the Cobbold family had listened to Ipswich fans then they would have sacked Booby Robson, rather than give him a longer contract - they were protesting and burning flags in the stands, they wanted him out. The Premiership is all about win or survive at all costs, hence the success of 'effective' football for clubs on limited resources. Personally I've enjoyed some of our performances this season, I enjoy watching the skills of Hoilett, Formica, Rochina, Olsson...in fact the last time I enjoyed watching the actual football so much was under Souness when we had Duff, Dunn, Jansen et al. So it seems those who are negative just want to survive in the Premiership at all costs including dire football - that's fair enough but I think the insulting and personal nature of some of the comments on this website and at the ground are shameful. We can agree to disagree and just leave it at that. I'm expecting to be ridiculed but I've always loved watching Rovers from the old Third Division through to winning the Premiership. That passion hasn't changed even though the owners have. I'm not actually Ronnie Hildersley but I've always enjoyed watching skilful Rovers players from Brotherstone through to Rochina and I love football! COYB
Dingles away on boxing day, at home on Easter Monday , we ( I ) didn't expect to set the league on fire but I honestly allways had a brill day on match days.
We have moved on a lot since then though premiership champions , league cup winners, charity shield twice
Things have moved on again struggling at the bottom, football has been impressive but results the total opposite, it's points we need even if it means winning ugly. Who's going to be on the bench after the usual 70 mins or so?
I think we can kick @rse tomorrow if we play like we did against Norwich for the whole 90 mins not 70 mins
Wishing all rovers fans a good day out tomorrow

The following poem, was NOT written by myself. I have copied it from the 'Sack Steve Kean' Facebook page. I urge you all to read it. I hope the author doesn't mind me posting it on here. This poem is all the inspiration i need to keep on fighting for the future of this football club, because this man gave us a future - AND WE OWE IT HIM TO FIGHT!! I have never written a poem before, I don’t see any point in rhyme it never appeals to us working class, it’s just a waste of time. Well now its abit different, I need to tell you how I feel and in some small way pay tribute to the Blackburn man of steel. Its vital not to miss the point, footballs not just a bit of fun, its pride and passion, skill and strength all rolled into one. It’s not about Man Utd, Chelsea or some foreign fancy Dan, Its Blackburn, Preston, Burnley, that’s where it all began. Where what you see is what you get, but don’t show how you feel but I'm making my exception for the Blackburn Man of Steel. I really need to thank him for the pride he gave us back just for a while we were the best, Thanks to Uncle Jack! Few people have the vision to make a dream come true The beauty of Jack Walker’s was - We got an invite to Some saw him as a rich old man who bought a winning team But for me they miss the point, he gave us all our dream!! I think its maybe true to say it could not last forever But then again Im sure, its better once than never! And even if those winning ways never do come back they can’t take away our memories, Thanks to Uncle Jack!! Hendry, Sutton, Batty, Shearer - the names run off the tongue But 'THERE'S ONLY ONE JACK WALKER' is still the Rovers song So forget the players agents and smart Armani Suits Raise a glass to Uncle Jack, A man who knew his roots. That is absolutely fantastic, and sums my feelings up perfectly. I simply cannot sit back and do nothing, and just watch Venky's and Steve Kean, systematically destroy everything that this great man built. It would be an insult to his memory to do so.
One of the hoof worshippers is getting confused. Yes mate its definitely your vomit and sh1t.

Whatever Andy Cryer may hold as his own opinion I fully respect and I understand that L Tel must be seen as impartial, but come on and get this debate out there. A simple survey is not biased as long as it is compiled fairly, and might make those who wish to have a voice in their beloved club's affairs feel a little less persecuted as "false fans" if the true numbers are known . It s making me so sad that Rovers fans ( and yes we are all supporters; protesting against the running of the club does not prevent us from being passionate supporters of our team ) are wrestling in such a mire of mis information/lies and antagonism that no one can deny is directly or indirectly linked to the management decisions of both Venky s or Kean. Did this ever happen to such a damaging degree in history? In fact, if I'm a little more honest, the disputes between fans are probably bringing one of those smug smiles to Kean and his posse (please stop doing that on TV interviews- it makes my skin crawl). Goebbels had a talent for setting citizen against citizen in the 1930s with a few choice speeches which identified certain sectors as the baddies. This is in no way such an horrific example of how propaganda can set man against man, but the method certainly seems to be having an effect. How dare Kean refer to protesters as a different group to Supporters!!!How dare he hide behind his players whilst pretending he' s protecting them. Yet from this site, I see that the calculated wording from Ewood is having the desired effect. I shall use capitals now, which I dislike as it feels like I'm shouting. WE ARE ALL SUPPORTERS OF OUR TEAM. WE AL WANT THEM TO WIN AND TO SURVIVE IN THE PREMIERSHIP. WE BUY OUR SEASON TICKETS YEAR ON YEAR AND WILL CONTINUE TO DO SO BECAUSE I LOVE MY TEAM. But I also wish to use my democratic right to say when I think something is wrong ( and since the exits of BS and the respected Mr Williams et al, things have felt all wrong ). Having recently been privileged to teach about the suffragette movement and the results of peaceful protest led by Martin Luther King in 1960s USA to 8 year olds, I feel very uneasy about this ban on banners this week and the general degradation of those who feel they need to protest. Some on this site say " Why bother?" . I'm sure many said that to the above movements. Health and safety issues from a white duvet cover this week, yet no issues previously ??? Ok then, am I within my human rights to hold up an A4 piece of paper with a message, or will I be reprimanded? Having read back this post, I realise how ridiculous the whole situation is! What on earth is going on at our once proud club?I have been standing in the Ronnie Clayton stand protesting after matches, after having shouted 90 odd minutes of full support to the team, as have the vast majority of us. Yes we are being ignored, through stubbornness of the owners and misplaced arrogance of the manager. But the protests will no doubt continue because of the dignity (in memory of Jack Walker) that we hold in and for our club. Come on Rovers on Saturday!!! We can do it, and we 'll be behind you on the pitch all the way.

At first it wasn't the losing of football matches that made me dislike him so much, although the fact that he hasn't walked away or been sacked after so many defeats has made me resent him. The guy is obviously out of his depth and I don't blame him for taking a job in the Premier League. What really gets me is all this positive spin he tries to put on things. As if everything is just going to turn around under him. If he stays, we will get relegated. It is that simple.
He talks in sound bites for the benefit of the owners. You already know what he's going to say before he does an interview. The same of BS about the players and owners being behind him. The majority of the fans supporting him. Positives to be taken games, despite being unable to win games.
To say “We can’t let the small minority get to the stage where it’s annoying anybody" just sums the guy and club up. They view the protesters as an irritation that is making things awkward for the club by highlighting his disastrous time in charge.
To finish off by saying that he's been looking for a house is a big two fingers up to the fans and is a way of saying that "I'm here for the long run guys so you better get used to it." I'm sure he has seen some nice ones with the money he's making.
He's a complete joke of a manager and a man for that matter.

We are all individual and have our own ideas, luckily you and i live in a democracy which allows us a point of view and the right to air it, you have yours and everybody else has their own, live with it!

Or are you an expert in where flip flops originated from? developing into thermionic radiation amplification? What are the principles and what is the effect of increased plate voltage on overall gain with respect to decreasing negative plate bias current?, you can look that up on wikipedia as well if you like, the qusetion is, does wikipedia know enough about it to bluff your way through? Is wiki's take on the subject correct? Will you have to cut and paste and attempt to rearrange the words? you'll have to take it in a bit before you understand how it works my flip flop buddy but we have all week.
Haha superb, I believe it's BINARY. But hey ho, anyone can read Wikipedia. Oh and "amonia" is actually spelt ammonia. Don't try your silly little games with me. I've had my views from day one. I'm still waiting to be proved wrong, if the time comes I will openly state I was wrong. I've said that all along. I don't change my mind week after week, and i certainly don't pander to anyone. I'm glad you asked what I'm a doctor of because you've finally stumbled upon it.
Or if you want something more modern to talk about regarding flip flops, what about companded audio multiplexing and its effect on overall bandwidth dependant on the frequency of data transmission rate compared to bitsream technology? You might find something about that on wiki, but you may not understand it and how you could possibly compare the two. Where and why they are used?
Thats why on here I stick to football, cause its nice and simple for the weekend.
I'd be interested to know how many of the protestors hold a Phd, that would be an interesting stat. I know I can count you out. :0) my brickworm freind. Unless of course you have a Phd in spelling

Stone Island wrote: The following poem, was NOT written by myself. It would be an insult to his memory to do so.The “insult to his memory” as you say ….was that the Walkers Trust (his own family) sold out to the highest bidder without the slightest regard for tradition and history….oh, and the fans!

Is this a wind up? If it is it's working.
