BLACKBURN Rovers are ready to offer Steve Kean a full time managerial contract for the next "two to three years".

Venky’s pledge to offer Kean a long-term contract at Rovers has surprised even him after he was initially told he had been appointed manager until the end of the season.

Kean insisted ‘it was news’ to him and that he would focus on bringing new faces to the club over the new few days.

When asked how likely kean was to be Rovers boss beyond the season end, Mrs Desai said: “He is going to be beyond.

"We are making a contract for him that is going to be like a full-term contract.

"It is not just about this season.

“A proper contract, which should be at least two to three years.

“He is a very positive person. He thinks well and has a vision. Basically, mark my words, he thinks well.

"He is a thinker. That is his big strength.”
