GRAHAM Taylor says he will be boycotting turkey and chicken this Christmas in protest at the decision by Blackburn Rovers owners Venky's to sack Sam Allardyce.

The Indian poultry giants made the decision to dismiss Allardyce on Monday despite the manager’s impressive record of results since arriving at Ewood Park two years.

Taylor was famously branded a ‘turnip’ by a newspaper during his time as England boss but has now directed his anger at a different food product.

“For the first time in many, many years I will be having roast beef for Christmas dinner rather than turkey or chicken,” he said.

“It will be my protest against what is happening at Blackburn Rovers and what is happening to our football in this country.

“What the hell is going on? I feel very strongly and passionate about this because I see the game being taken over by non-football people.”
