ACCRINGTON Stanley are hoping for a link-up with a club from American casino resort Atlantic City.
The new team is being set up by Matt Driver, who was once on the books of Burnley and Bury.
Driver was previously an assistant coach at MLS side New England Revolution and met Stanley boss John Coleman and assistant Jimmy Bell on a recent visit to England.
Stanley are now hoping to arrange an affiliation with the New Jersey club, with Bell saying: “Matt is someone we know and he came over from Atlantic City the other week.
“The way clubs are set up over there is a lot different and he is involved with a few teams, so we have talked about the possibility of an affiliation.
“It might be visa wise in terms of getting players over here, plus we might be able to send a few scholars over there.
“And if we could get a first-team player out of it one day, that would be great.”
