ACCRINGTON Stanley boss John Coleman admitted the 4-2 home defeat to Rochdale game brought back unwanted memories of Bradford’s recovery from 2-0 down to win at the Crown Ground last season.
“It was similar, and it’s a similar feeling,” said the boss, who said he would ‘wait and see’ if any transfer business can be done before Thursday’s loan deadline.
“But I think Rochdale are a better team than us. I don’t think Bradford were at the time.
“We gave a good account of ourselves up until we scored the second goal, and then we fell off our bike and couldn’t get back on it.
“Conceding so soon after we scored the second was a turning point.
“Five or 10 minutes with us winning 2-0, I think we’d have probably gone on and won by more.
“I thought the days of us buckling very quickly had gone, but obviously they’d just been laying dormant.
Coleman was unhappy with Rochdale’s fourth goal, when Chris Dagnall appeared to charge down Dean Bouzanis’ kick with an arm.
“The fourth goal shouldn’t have counted," said Coleman.
“How you can get away with a handball and the old play-acting of holding your face, yet when the lad puts it in the net he runs and celebrates?”
