FULL-TIME: Bolton Wanderers 0 Blackburn Rovers 2

David Dunn gave boss Sam Allardyce the perfect tonic as he inspired Rovers to a brilliant away victory.

Blackburn went into the match looking to avoid a club record of 11 away defeats on the spin, and that never looked in danger as soon as Dunn scored on 32 minutes.

He clipped the ball into the top corner after a pass from Jason Roberts.

Rovers doubled their lead in the second half when Sam Ricketts headed spectacularly into his own goal.

Gavin McCann also headed efforts from Roberts and Ryan Nelsen off the line as Rovers dominated.

It was a deserved win and one which wil lift Sam Allardyce ahead of his heart operation.

Well done lads(team and away support), what a relief.
I would like to dedicate the classic own goal to Banjo's at Ewood/Wan*ering in Darwen - have some of that.

Well done Rovers! TUF worked although we didn't see much of Roberts and only a bit of Di Santo. We were in control throughout except for their attempts on goal which would have done us on another day but we got lucky today. A deserved win but to say we never looked in danger of losing is a bit too optimistic.
.
Dunn again played a blinder and Diouf came good against his old side. He could manage to get enough space to get crosses in and if he couuld do that every week he'd be worth playing. Fingers crossed he'll give a selection headache.
.
Burnley fans should be happy because there are 3 teams worse than you - Bolton, Wolves and Pompey - so it looks like we'll be beating you next season as well as this season.

So were is our little pet who has made a comeback as a Banjo lost in Darwen somewhere...Or something.
Yesterday while sending his regards
to Sam, He did say dont ask for any favours tommorow ,Well maybe he should have told that to Ricketts who gifted us the second goal after Dunns great vision 1st goal.
.
The 2nd half we were the better team all day long, And it was plain to see ,So well done to all the team.
We all know it will not get shut of Banjo lost in Darwen ,But even he cannot get away from such a poor turn out by Gary Mugson's team, And it is only right and fitting that we remind him that we are flying up the table ,And he firmly stuck in the bottom three, Were they belong.
.
But the big Question is will he now take 2 weeks holiday off these boards like the Dingles did when we bet them ?.
Whatever he decides to do ,I am sure we can remind him of the score ,And were he is in the table.....

What a difference !!! TUF and we looked like a team with confidence who wanted to win a football match instead of a bunch of players cowering in defence trying to stop the opposition from scoring. OK so Bolton were poor (they've got bigger problems than Rovers!!) but at last we looked positive and took the game to them. Yes they could have had a couple of goals but our luck was with us for a change. Rovers were the better team in the first half and totally dominated the second. Great result ! Well done lads and well done McD. !!!!!

Arrogance oozing once more.
From a football persons perspective that game was a disgrace by any standard and if people from abroad where to witness that they would laugh at standard of 2 English Premier League clubs.
Robinson taking free kicks from half way line?
Both sides a disgrace to the Premiership.
Thank god weve got the big 4 because the Premiership is probably at its lowest standard for a long while!!

Why do you bother watching? You take great pleasure in seeing Rovers get beat , yet when we outplay a team and deservedly win, it's because the other team was so poor. Ever heard the saying you can only beat what you're up against? And we did. End of. Just back from the game, first half was admittedly dire, but Dunny took his chance brilliantly. 2nd half, the win never looked in doubt and we totally bossed the game. We could, and should, have had more goals but even at 2-0 up in injury time, we were still attacking. Good to see. Emerton, imho, was fantastic. Well done to the team, McDonald and the fans, you were all brilliant :o)

You obviously didn't go to the match then Realist.Forget about the Big 4 because we can't expect to compete with them anymore and start looking at the positives. The lads picked up three points and played Wanderers of the park, especially in the second half. These are the teams we have to be taking points off and that was accomplished comfortably today.Start being realistic, the days of winning the league are well gone, but if the team can continue playing with a positive 4-4-2 formation and taking the game to the opposition and entertaining at the same time all well and good.Only down side for me was Gael Givet having to come off with the deadleg or thigh strain but Chimbonda switched and Jacobsen filled in to keep the balance in the back four.Well done to everybody who made the short trip to the Reebok.I reckon that was" banjo" who we all waved to making a quick exit with 15 minutes left near the norwegian flag. What a mug!.

The first half was poor by premiership standards, two poor teams low on confidence-Bolton shipping goals lately & Rovers dreadful run of away results -the shining light of the first half was Dunny’s goal & performance (just hope he stays fit) Second half in my eyes was a better encounter and Rovers played better and could have won by 4/5 if chances had been taken- lets not kid ourselves Bolton could have scored and the outcome of the result may have been different. All that mattered in this game was to avoid defeat ending the disastrous run, a win was a bonus.

Once we got the confidence to take the game by the scruff of the neck we did just that and there was only one team in it and playing football.

.

We can go out and play our football with confidence now and consolidate our position in mid-table before making a push further up the League.

.

Best of all - a clean sheet away from home. I know it was only Bolton and even they had their chances but we saw it out deservedly.

.

Fulham and Stoke to come - I would be ecstatic with 4 points from those two games.

.

Well done the lads!

So you're a football person are you? Boll0cks! You don't get it!

You have shown yourself up as the type who watches football on telly, all in the hope of seeing a "good entertaining game".
You don't follow a team, so you don't understand what it is like to be a proper supporter.
Proper supporters have always been the lifeblood of any club.
Its a sad state of affairs that at the moment, the game is geared towards the likes of you. You disgust me.
Why on earth would anyone give a s**t what a load of foreigners think. I couldn't give a toss about any other nations leagues.

Apart from the good performance from the team today , the 4000 strong Rovers support, which was magnifico. Mucho respecto to them for getting behind the lads (something that a t*at like realist will never be able to comprehend) and outsinging Bewtun. They were TRUELY embarrassing and I've never seen so many home "fans" leave a stadium 15 minutes before the final whistle. The Breezeblock has a feel of a place were relegation is an inevitability.

Old McDonald had a team! eya eya oh!
Great performance by the lads inparticular Dunn....showed his class by running fully 60 yards and with a great finish....his ball to Di Santo (who should have finished) was excuiste!
Emerton was outstanding too...great to see him fit and what we been missing and finally Roberts who held the ball up well...
Unlike others I thought Diouf was poor...gave the ball away too often, very little pace on the wings and looked disinterested at times...unlucky not to get a goal tho.

Great to see us play 4-4-2...difference really showed but I rekon we should play Benni and Roberts against Fulham.

All the best to Sam for his op.

Dont tell me your judging him on the 'glaring miss' with the quality ball from Dunn?

Di Santo was in dazzled & in awe at the ball that was passed through to him.

Can’t believe some **** condemn Rovers even when they end an away run of defeats lasting 10 games. We were superb! It was like watching Brazil in that second half, we were toying with Bolton at times. Di Santo should have scored but good save keeper, Diouf had a good chance headed off the line, nelson had a header cleared off the line, Dunny’s persistence in the first half almost got him a goal just before he scored we were better than them all over the pitch. It might have been a bit scrappy in the fist half but how many teams do see go to Bolton and play a beautiful game? Not many. They are long ball merchants and how they proved it. Can’t believe how better we looked having a 4-4-2 set up and we actually passed the ball around much better than of late and I have to say we didn’t miss Pedersen in the slightest. Paul Robinson must have thrown the ball out more times in this game than he has all season and it was from one of his quick throws that we broke away and scored. This has to better than hoisting a big 50-50 boot up field any day of the week. That was a great counter attacking goal, I don’t think a Bolton player touched the ball until they picked it out of the net. Fantastic. That win must surely lift the spirits and belief now and we can take that to Fulham in the week and get a result there I’m sure. Regarding the attendance on Sunday. I understood Rovers allocation was 3,200 sold out, hence those empty seats in the lower tier at the away end. Don’t know why Bolton didn’t give us 4,000 tickets.
