FULL-TIME: Accrington Stanley 0 Dagenham and Redbridge 1

4:48pm Saturday 14th November 2009

ACCRINGTON Stanley's five-match unbeaten run came to an end as they slipped to a home defeat against Dagenham and Redbridge in League Two this afternoon.

Stanley had won six of their last seven home games in all competitions but Mark Arber's 39th-minute header gave the promotion-challenging visitors all three points.

Both sides had chance in the first half but it was Arber who broke the deadlock as he found the net with a free header from Danny Green's corner.

Stanley keeper Ian Dunbavin, who played on despite an injury in the first few minutes of the game, made a decent save to deny Paul Benson in the seventh minute before Bobby Grant had a shot cleared off the line by Scott Doe at the other end.

Dunbavin denied Benson again with a fine save but the striker hit the post from a Jon Nurse cross after John Miles had done the same for Stanley with a curling effort.

The Reds pushed for an equaliser throughout the second period and Doe had to clear off the line for the visitors again as Jimmy Ryan followed up after Tony Roberts had saved from Grant.

Phil Edwards later had an appeal for a penalty turned down but Stanley could not get the goal they needed.
