Samba plays down rumours over Blackburn Rovers future

CHRIS Samba has played down speculation that he could leave Blackburn Rovers.

Manchester City, Everton and West Ham have all been linked with a move for the defender, while rumours have also surfaced connecting German clubs Borussia Dortmund and TSG Hoffenheim with a bid.

But both Rovers and the player’s agent, Leon Lambert, have told the Lancashire Telegraph that they are currently unaware of any interest.

Samba said: "I am still at Blackburn so I can't comment.

"Whoever wants me will need to talk to Blackburn Rovers and we will see.

"I have nothing to add. I am calm and waiting. I have had a great holiday."

i`d hardly call those comments `playing down` a move. more like `come and get me please`.

very disappointing having pulled him out of obscurity in a german reserve side.

As you say, I wouldn't call his comments 'playing down' a move. Of course, we know that sometimes only half the interview gets quoted so we should take it with a pinch of salt for now.

Don't think he's coming to Man City due to him not being high profile enough for us. We are only usually associated with England and Brazilian Captains at the moment. Probably would be a big loss for you lot though!

I never really minded Man City until you got all this money to spend. You are becoming as arrogant as Man United fans.
At least Man United have mostly made their own wealth.

Us Rovers fans will take our memories of winning the premier league to our graves, you will never experience that. Something will eventually go wrong at City, it always does because you're a comedy club just like Newcastle.

Ha ha, high profile - yeah

Do they want to play for Man City?? ummm, nope.

I dont know where Terry would fit into your world class defence? I mean look at the high profile players he'd be playing alongside:

Micah Richard
Nedum Onuoha
Pablo Zabaleta
Javan Vidal
Javier Garrido
Richard Dunne
Wayne Bridge
Tal Ben-Haim
Vincent Kompany
Berti Glauber
Clayton McDonald

Im sure theres no striker in the prem scraed of this defence

This guy is 100% correct!

City only get linked with the highest profile players!

They get linked with them and then blown out.

just like you lot from deadwood... a joke club that got some money... bought the league for one year and now you're on a downward spiral... you can't have a grown up conversation about football issues, instead you have to slump to the depths of talking about 'interbreeding'... is that the kind of muck that fills your small brains? roll on next season... Up the Clarets!

I wonder if you'll still have that cocky attitude when you dont get out of the relegation zone all season and every team regards your lot as a joke club!... Down the Clarets!

Seems Big Sam is looking at a centre back from Lens here in France - Gregory Cerdan, 26 year old one club player.
Maybe Samba is on his way out after all? Just hope we get at least 8 million for Samba?

Goal.com says that Cerdan has made over 100 league appearances for Le Mans since turning professional with the club, and Sam Allardyce believes the player could provide some more Gallic defensive backbone after signing Gael Givet.

His valuation would not be a problem for Allardyce, who is prepared to offer Le Mans the €2.5 million they are demanding, and Cerdan is believed to be itching for a move to England should a club show interest.
Could be a good deal for us.
