BLACKBURN Rovers may consider letting more players leave to raise funds - but only after they have a new striker on board.
Rovers boss Sam Allardyce does not expect any more transfers, either in or out of Ewood, until he has secured the goalscorer that he needs to replace the departed Roque Santa Cruz.
Rovers have already brought in four players this summer as well as allowing Matt Derbyshire to leave, but have previously denied reports linking the likes of Stephen Warnock, Benni McCarthy, Chris Samba and Keith Andrews with moves away from the club.
Allardyce is now concentrating his entire budget on bolstering his strike force and will assess how much money he has left once he has done that.
But Big Sam has suggested that he may consider selling at that point to raise money for further additions to the squad - with midfield thought to be one area he may try to strengthen.
"We don't need to sell anybody else now,” said Allardyce, who is taking his squad to Austria for a training camp today.
“We've put the financial side right and I've got some funds to spend.
"I won't be able to sign as much as I can get, though. It will stop somewhere along the line.
"But for me I will never stop asking for football players, even though the club or John (Williams) might say that's it.
"If a better player comes along, I will try to persuade the club to get him in.
"Sometimes you can do your business and all of a sudden something appears that you never expected to appear.
"Then I've got to try to convince the club that it's the right thing to do, even if it means going above what they expected or wanted to do, because this player would be so good for Blackburn.
"If that means trading again, I would have to look at that option.”
Allardyce is definitely in the market for one striker but may decide to sign two - with young Chelsea forward Franco di Santo the favourite to be the second signing on a season-long loan deal.

There is a reason those 4 players (McCarthy, Samba, Warnock and Andrews) have been linked with moves away... they were about the only ones who weren't absolute crap last season!
Stick to your computer games. And another thing, people who go on about how N'Zonzi and Van Heerden should be starting - you don't have a clue! You don't know anything about them, and don't mention youtube either! Villaneuva was a youtube phenomena and a premier league flop.

As for Van Heerden or Nzonzi not starting, i'd rather see them playin than the likes of Peds, Andrews, Reid, Dunn, all slow, none of them very special. Everyone deserves their chance.

Supported the club for 12 years and attended matches consistently during that period. That quote is just my signature as I clearly expressed. They should add an option for it. I expect Jack in the present situation would try to sell the club. He wanted only the very best for this club and would realise he couldn't provide that anymore. He wouldn't be holding back funds though like the current owners are doing. Answer the question. If Jack sold the club in 2000 and the new owners behaved in the same way as the present ones (i.e contributing zero to transfers, speaking to the fans about twice in 9 years) would they be quite so popular? I doubt it somehow.

Who is this mystical buyer going to be then? Do you realise what is happening globally with regard to the Economy? Do you really think there are that many people out there who are willing to throw millions of pounds at something with no hope of making them a return? Jack Walker did it for very good reason, he loved Rovers. It wasn't a play thing, a tax fiddle or a way for him to boost his ego. I very much doubt Jack Walker would sell the club. If he was alive, would it really be in the best intrests of the club for Jack to move over and allow a Mike Ashley type in? Course it wouldn't! You have a pi$$ poor understanding of football, and the club. Hardly suprising since your becoming a fan coincides with Euro 96... after we became champios! The Walkers don't speak to the fans much, no. They have a chairman who does it. He also listens to supporters too!

My last post has been deleted for some reason. It would be nice to get an e-mail explanation for it. I said nothing wrong against the site terms and conditions. Someone else (Half A Chance I think the name was) has had a comment deleted which had racial overtones directed at me saying "my sort" isn't welcome at Ewood. I am White British like most at Ewood so "my sort" as Half A Chance described it is actually in the majority. I don't know why he assumes I'm not English and so what if I wasn't. Anyone who wants to support BRFC regardless of race is welcome at Ewood. I campaign for takeovers Morst because I want to see decent owners give their all for this football club. No different to you criticising Williams until the prices changed. I have made positive statements about the club in the past. How many times have I referred to this as a big club (which I get abuse for saying) or a great club? Several times on here and other forums. Is that not positive language? I used to be positive about every single aspect of this club from 97-2000. I defended every single thing the club did. Up to 2003 I did the same to a lesser extent. However that's not the way forward. I would like to talk about great owners or great mentality but I don't consider the club to have either of those things at the moment. Both those things when I started supporting this club were in place.

We need some new fresh songs, i will start the ball rolling with a new brilliant song which should be sang: I wanna be a Rovers Ranger, I wanna live a life of danger. I wanna beat Burnley every week, I wanna chase 'em down the streets. Here's to the girl who I like best, Every night I suck her breasts. S**g her standing, S**g her lying, If she had wings, I'd s**g her flying. Now shes dead. Not forgotten, dig her up, S**g her rotten oooooooooh... Rovers RoversPaul McCartney watch out! We are all entitled to our opinions, but this is wrong in almost every way.
You suggest getting rid of Andrews and Emerton and you produce a team sheet which contains Spit, MGP and Belly Mc!! Are you insane?
