1,500 extra Burnley season tickets on sale

BURNLEY will put an extra 1,500 season tickets on general sale after giving the go-ahead to plans to open up the David Fishwick Stand to home supporters.

Clarets chiefs have been in discussions with police and safety officials for several weeks to increase the home capacity at Turf Moor, after selling out their initial 15,000 allocation last month following promotion to the Premier League.

And manger Owen Coyle is delighted that the claret and blue army is about to get even bigger.

“Last season the Clarets’ supporters truly were our 12th man at Turf Moor and their backing helped us to reach the Barclays Premier League,” said the Clarets boss.

“I’m sure the extra 1,500 season tickets, plus the 15,000 we have already sold, can only help us to stay there.”

Coyle has championed a change for his players’ entry onto the pitch, as they currently run out of what has long been the away stand.

The extra seats now going on sale are expected to surround the tunnel, meaning Coyle’s men will hear the Turf roar from all four sides of the ground.

Colne-based businessman Mr Fishwick has been the sponsor of the cricket field stand since 2004. It is the first part of Turf Moor scheduled for redevelopment when the Clarets press ahead with their proposed facelift.

“This is wonderful news,” he said.

“I was proud to extend my sponsorship of the stand until 2012 earlier this year and I think it is fitting that as the current stand nears its end, Burnley fans will again be seated there.”

Postal applications for the new allocation of season tickets are invited immediately, with all applications to be clearly marked ‘David Fishwick Stand Ticket Applications’.

A copy of the form can be downloaded from the club’s website, or a form can be requested by e-mailing info@burnleyfc.com.

Postal applications only will be taken until 9am on Monday (guaranteed delivery by 9am Monday via recorded delivery is recommended).

Allocation permitting, the ticket office will then re-open at 9.15am on Monday, July 6 to accept personal applications only, until all seats are sold.

Postal applications will still be accepted after this time, but with no guarantee of seats.

Supporters are advised that all seats will be allocated on a first come first served basis, but there is no option to choose specific seats.

Season Ticket prices are: £359 adult, £199 concessions, £75 16-18, £75 Under 16s providing they are sold in conjunction with adult tickets.

Some seat transfers from other stands in home areas may be accepted by the club, but new applications will take priority. All seat transfer applications should be made by post ONLY, clearly marked ‘Seat Transfer’, and all seat transfers are at the discretion of the club.

Supporters should also note that some seats in the David Fishwick Stand may not be available for certain cup matches, in which case an alternative seat will be found in another stand.

Finally, in the event of the redevelopment of the David Fishwick Stand, any season ticket holders in that stand will have priority over seats in the new stand, on its completion.
