Government minister tips Blackburn Rovers to stay up

Andy Burnham Andy Burnham

THE minister in charge of sport has backed Blackburn Rovers’ fight against relegation.

Secretary of State Andy Burnham, an Everton fan, told the Lancashire Telegraph: “I have seen Blackburn twice this season and they are definitely showing the right signs you need at this time of the season.

“They are looking tough to beat and I think they will do it: the one thing you need in a relegation scrap is to be able to fight and be tough."

If he had said Rovers would be relegated would this have made the paper? Would it have been news, or just his opinion? I wonder..
