MEMBERS of Burnley’s football team may be interviewed as witnesses to a hit-and-run incident where a pregnant woman was deliberately knocked down.
The Clarets’ team bus was near to where the woman, who is four months pregnant, was hit by a car in Glasgow on Tuesday.
Club officials have notified the police and are waiting to hear if officers would like to question them.
The 32-year-old woman escaped serious injury in the incident, which happened as she was walking along Parragon Way, in the Gorbals, at about 1pm.
A spokesman for Burnley FC, who were playing St Johnstone last night, said: “If we are contacted by the police, we will co-operate fully with their investigation.”
