I'M happy with the appointment, I think it's a good move.
I've said it before that if Alan Shearer wasn't going to get it, then it had to go to someone who was young, hungry and vibrant and, to be fair, Paul Ince ticks all those boxes.
He's worked in the lower leagues and he's now ready to take the step up.
People may question whether he can make that step up but, for me, where he has come from, is even more difficult than the Premier League.
At Macclesfield or MK Dons, Ince wouldn't have had a big staff or a top quality staff. He would have had a very hands-on role, taking charge of most things at the club, from the admin to the coaching.
He'll understand fully what it takes to be a manager, whether it's in League Two or the Premier League.
And you only have to listen to the comments from the MK Dons players to see how good a manager he is and what he'll bring to Rovers.
He'll have no troubles dealing with the big egos at the club, after all, during his playing days, nobody had a bigger ego than Paul.
He was a quality player, a hard player who commanded respect from his opponents. And he'll command the same respect from his players, of that I'm sure.
The club have done very well. They haven't rushed things, they've taken their time, and it shows how big an attraction the job was when they had 40 applications for the post.
Paul has come through all those and the job is now his.
I think these are definitely exciting times for Rovers

But please everybody, we also need ot be a bit patient and not to expect inatant success. We must remember that when Hughes took over we were staring relegation in the face and all he had (ha- I say "all" - it was a mircle)to do was kep us in the prem and he wasa hero - which he did and which he was and from that bought time to develop his team etc.
Paul Ince on the other hand has come into Mark Hughes team LESS ALL HIS BACKROOM STAFF - a team that has finished in the top ten every year over the last thre years so if he does not instantly repeat such a faith may soon be seen as a failure so lets give him some time - mark my words - we will not be dissapointed!!!!!
