BURNLEY defender Jon Harley is leaving Turf Moor after failing to agree terms on a new deal.
The left-back was one of five out-of-contract players offered new terms by Clarets boss Owen Coyle at the end of the Championship campaign.
However, following discussions between the two parties today, Harley has snubbed the club's offer, effectively ending his playing days at Burnley.
The 28-year-old former Chelsea and Fulham defender, who joined the Clarets from Sheffield United in August 2005, made 126 club appearances and scored three goals.
"We offered Jon a new deal and, unfortunately, we cannot agree terms," said Coyle.
"Subsequently, he will be moving on and we wish him well in his career elsewhere."
Coyle is still waiting to hear if any of the other four players offered new deals want to extend their careers with Burnley.
Goalkeeper Brian Jensen, midfielder James O'Connor and teenage striker Jay Rodriguez are mulling over fresh terms, along with veteran defender David Unsworth, who has been offered a one-year contract in a player-coach capacity, and their decisions are expected to be announced early next week.

Do any of you people actually attend Burnley matches? Harley is an outstanding player with a good pedigree - unfortunately, he has become disillusioned this year due to the pathetic non-existent team spirit, lack of quality in his team-mates and poor man-management and coaching ability of Owen Coyle. What happens when you combine a second rate scottish unproven manager with an ageing inept spineless team of mainly lower division quality along with a board unable to pay the wages that every other club in this division will pay and offer transfer fees way below the market value?? Add this to the disillusioned fans who are absolutely disgusted with the tactics the board have displayed this season along with the non stop lies and falling attendances and serious fall in season ticket allocation and the picture gets worse!! We will be fighting relegation next season, Owen Coyle will not be manager next summer, we really missed the boat with Phil Brown who has done a tremendous job at Hull City - yet the board had you believe he was not good enough when the reality was they would not pay his wages or back him in signing the players he wanted!! Come on Flood, tell the truth or you will find Birmingham City's fans are like angels compared to what will come your way!! I personally would like to thank Harley for his efforts whilst wearing our colours and wish him all the best in finding a new club.

Never had the impression from Owen Coyle he was desperate to keep Harley who (and not the only culprit)cost Burnley a lot of points over the season.
