Tugay's special award from Blackburn Rovers

TURKISH midfield ace Tugay was presented with a special trophy to mark his outstanding contribution to the club at Blackburn Rovers' annual player of the year awards night.
The Maestro, as he is known to some of his team-mates, got a standing ovation when he stepped forward to collect the award, which was presented in honour of his seven years' loyal service to the club.
It remains to be seen whether the 37-year-old will still be at Ewood Park next season, with manager Mark Hughes delaying a decision over whether to offer him a new contract until Rovers' destiny is decided in the race for Europe.

on a more serious note,it does look like the maestro have to hang up his boots for rovers. It would be weird to give someone an outstanding contribution award to the club after seven years, and then extend their contract.

There is little money for teams like blackburn, burnley, bolton, preston, & the rest so start to think out of your little squares & open your minds for a change, it would be good to see more derby games with full grounds.???

It is so depressing getting to the training ground and seeing players like Bentley, Santa Cruz, Mcarthy, and Tugay at brockhall.
I wish i was playing for a massive championship club like Burnley, alongside greats like Varga, and Randall. I wish i was at selhurst park on sunday, losing 5-0 to a class side like palace, wheras rovers only managed a draw against average man utd the other week.

The article is about Tugay who is as good a player as any that have played in the Premiership, and he's played for the Rovers for 7 years - now that's pretty special.
I hope we can do something for him next year, he's a unique talent.

Another interesting aspect is that in all the other areas of this website people spend hours complaining about how foreigners are flooding into Britain and taking our jobs and houses, yet the same bigots seem happy to watch teams that have few British players in them?
