JONATHAN Walters has joined Ipswich Town on loan until January,
The 34-year-old has found himself out of favour at Turf Moor and he has made just two starts since signing from Stoke City last summer, one in the EFL Cup last August and one in the Europa League earlier this month.
Walters is returning to Portman Road for a second spell having made almost 150 appearances in a previous spell between January 2007 and August 2010.
The Republic of Ireland international, named Town’s Player of the Year in 2008, will be looking to help Ipswich recover from a slow start to the season as they look for a first Championship win.
His first appearance could come in Sunday’s local derby against Norwich City.
He is the second forward to leave Burnley on loan recently, with Nahki Wells joining QPR on a temporary basis.
