MATEJ Vydra can give Burnley a different option in attack - once he’s got used to what’s expected of him.

Sean Dyche had the £11million man available for the first time against Olympiakos in Athens, but the frontman remained an unused substitute in the 3-1 defeat.

Vydra can operate behind the striker as well as up front and Dyche believes his ability to ‘create and score’ from the number 10 role can offer his side a fresh dimension.

But he also warned that the 26-year-old needs to get used to what is expected of players in Dyche’s starting XI as he settles into life at Turf Moor.

Asked about the impact the former Derby County man could make, Dyche said: “It depends on how he fits into the group and understands it.

“We want to operate as we did last season, having a bit more flexibility tactically. Vyds is someone who can create and score from that position.

“That’s a different kind of player, but then he’s got to understand the work side of the Premier League and our group.”
