JOHN Coleman says Kayden Jackson will be going nowhere unless the club’s valuation is met.

Accrington Stanley are understood to want upwards of £2million for the striker, who is on the radar of a number of Championship and League One clubs, including Ipswich Town and Peterborough United.

Two bids have already been turned down by the Reds, and Coleman said they have made it clear to suitors how much they feel the 24-year-old is worth.

Jackson started in Stanley’s League One opener at home to Gillingham, which they lost 2-0.

And Coleman said he had no qualms about naming him on his teamsheet.

“Kayden’s a good lad and he’s got a sound head on his shoulders,” said the Stanley boss.

“Whatever happens will happen.

“It might have been a bit difficult for him (on Saturday) because he’s gone through a lot this week, a lot of speculation, and it’s mentally draining.

“That’s why we took him off for the last 10-15 minutes or so. It wasn’t the way he was playing we just thought he was a bit tired with what’s gone on this week.

“But I’ve got no problem with Kayden whether he stays or he goes, and I know he’ll give 100 per cent.”

Of the possibility of losing the striker, Coleman, speaking after the season opening defeat to the Gills, said: “There’s a line drawn in the sand on that, everyone’s clear about it. If someone doesn’t match that valuation we move on.

“We’re not a one-man team, we’ve got good players. We had six or seven who were just off the boil today, but when our good players all click we’re a good team, so we’ll just get on with our next game.”

Of his own recruitment drive before Thursday’s deadline, Coleman added: “We’re still looking to bring a couple of players in.”
