BURNLEY boss Sean Dyche said he would reflect on the club's historic night in Europe at the end of his career.

The Clarets drew 1-1 with Aberdeen at Pittodrie last week in the Europa League, Burnley's first continental clash in 51 years, and welcome the Dons to Turf Moor on Thursday for the return leg with a trip to Turkish side Istanbul Basaksehir the reward for the winners.

Burnley have enjoyed plenty of memorable moments since Dyche walked through the door nearly six years ago, including two promotions to the Premier League and qualification for Europe.

But the Clarets chief said he would look back and reflect on those achievements come the end of his career, and last week's European encounter was no different.

"I think the successes we have had at Burnley, I don’t think I reflect on much of it now," he said.

"I think it is for later on in life.

"I am just head down, keep working and keep grafting and keep trying to make the team better and try and win so at some point in the future I will probably look back on these nights."

Burnley's Battle of Britain trip to Scotland was watched by a 22,000 sell-out at Pittodrie with the supporters, including the 2,000 travelling fans from East Lancashire creating an electric atmosphere, something Dyche picked up on.

He said: "I thought the fans were great for both sides, I thought it was a really good atmosphere, a real good feel in the stadium and it felt like a proper real game."

Indeed, the Burnley fans who made the journey north of the border, have been praised for their behaviour.

A statement on the club's website said: "UEFA, Police Scotland, Lancashire Police, and Aberdeen FC have all commended the level of support and conduct of Burnley Football Club supporters.

"The spot checks undertaken in Aberdeen proved that the ticketing operation had been a success, with only a small number of tickets found on the incorrect persons, and therefore refused entry. These fans will be invited into the club over the coming days for investigation."

Tickets remain on sale for the Turf Moor leg which takes place on Thursday (7.45pm) and will be shown live on BT Sport.
