BURNLEY'S opening Premier League game of the season has been moved back to Sunday, August 12.

The Clarets kick-off the new campaign at St Mary's against Southampton but the fixture has been pushed back to 1.30pm on the Sunday.

This is due to Burnley's possible involvement in the Europa League third qualifying round, with the first leg taking place on Thursday, August 9 if Sean Dyche's men get past Aberdeen.

Should Burnley be successful against the Dons then the Turf Moor fixture currently set for Saturday, August 18 against Watford will also be moved to the Sunday, but despite initial discussions between the clubs no decision will be made until the Clarets' European fate is known.

Two games in September, at newly promoted Wolves and Cardiff, have also been moved for live TV coverage on Sky Sports.

The trip to Molineux to face Wolves now takes place on Sunday, September 16 (1.30pm), while the game at the Cardiff City Stadium is on Sunday, September 30 (4pm).
