BURNLEY Under-23s will continue to use Curzon Ashton's Tameside Stadium as their base for home fixtures next season.

The Clarets have played most of their games at the National League North side this term and agreement has been reached to extend that deal.

Under-23s boss Michael Duff is happy to be continuing in Ashton-under-Lyne next season and praised the pitch at the venue as well as the fact it's a better experience for the youngsters than playing at the training ground.

“I think it’s been a good place to play,” he said.

“The pitch is excellent, which is probably the most important thing.

“It’s a bit difficult for the first-team players coming in, but for our lads it just gives a better feel than the training ground.

“It gives them a little stadium to play in and under the floodlights it’s always good.

“It’s worked well. They have looked after us well. The food is good after the game and we’re happy to be going back.”

Duff's side finish their season on Friday against Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough (1pm).
