JOHN Coleman says winning promotion felt so good he wants to get another party started by securing the League Two title.

The Accrington Stanley boss has seen clips of Tuesday night’s celebrations at the Wham Stadium on television. But he wants to re-live it all again by claiming the silverware.

The Reds could be crowned champions as early as tomorrow.

Four points ahead of second placed Luton, a win away to Wycombe Wanderers would be enough to guarantee top spot if Carlisle were to beat their nearest challengers, with the Hatters having only two games left after this weekend.

Failing that, their next attempt would be away to Newport County on Tuesday night, ahead of their final home game against Lincoln City and the League Two finale at Swindon Town.

And Coleman says the idea of lifting the title should be enough of an incentive for Stanley to shake off their party hangovers quickly and get the job done.

“They had great scenes the other night and they can have them again,” said the Reds boss.

“If truth be known I think we had enough points two weeks ago to be promoted with 83, so I’ve been focusing on really trying to win the league. I know how difficult that’s going to be.

“I’m glad there’s something to play for, because it can quickly peter out and the fans can lose interest so at least everyone’s got something to play for.

“I know the lads want to celebrate with some silverware and it’s not going to be easy. We need to win two of those games against four very difficult opponents, three of them away from home.

“But we have got the pressure off us now that we are already promoted.”

But Coleman insists that does not mean they will be taking their foot off the gas.

“Now it’s back to business. We’ve got to do our due diligence on Wycombe and try to win a game that will take us three points closer to what is our major aim now, to win the title, because if we don’t win the title now it will be a bit of an anti-climax, getting promoted,” he warned.

“You want to pick up some silverware. You want to be crowned champions and get a winner’s medal. You don’t want to get a ‘rugby union’ (runners up) medal.

“It’s enough incentive for me and I’ll be pressing that home to the players.”
