BURNLEY have made winger Aaron Lennon their second signing of the January transfer window.

The 30-year-old has signed a two-and-a-half-year deal at Turf Moor after Burnley agreed an undisclosed fee with Everton.

He follows the arrival of Tottenham wide-man Georges-Kevin Nkoudou, who joined the Clarets on loan two weeks ago.

Burnley were close to bringing former England international Lennon to the club in the summer, but a move collapsed on deadline day when he had a change of heart and decided to remain at Goodison Park.

While Lennon has been involved for the Toffees on a regular basis this season he had fallen down the pecking order after Theo Walcott’s £20million move to Everton.

The former Tottenham man had just six months remaining on his contract.

Lennon underwent the first part of his medical on Monday, before finalising the move at the Barnfield Training Centre today.

And he is keen to make an impact at Turf Moor

He said: “Burnley was the club I wanted to come to and I can’t wait to get started. I’m looking forward to playing here.

“The club is moving forward and I want to hopefully play a part in that to keep it going in that direction.

“I think I’ve still got a lot to offer. I am only 30 and I still want to play at the highest level.

“I have missed a bit of football in the last year or so and I just want to get back and play as much as possible.

“I’ve never had an easy game against Burnley and this year they have done fantastic. They deserve to be where they are.

“Hopefully I can help the side continue that and have a good end to the season.

“The team has done brilliant. There are 14 games to go and hopefully we can kick on and maintain a place in the top half, which would be brilliant for the football club.”
