BRADLEY Brooks admits he can't wait to take to the oche after earning a place on the PDC tour.

The East Lancashire teenager came through qualifying school in Wigan over the weekend and will now compete against the likes of Michael Van Gerwen and Rob Cross on the professional stage.

His first test will come in a non-televised event in Barnsley next month and the 17-year-old admits he is delighted to be in with the big boys.

"It feels so amazing, I can't believe what I've done," the Blackburn ace said.

"I did okay on the first day but played really well on day two so I felt relaxed from there on.

"I can't wait to play against the best. Playing against the likes of Michael van Gerwen will only make me better and I can't wait."

The prodigy came through a field of more than 500 players in Wigan, winning eight matches to earn his place on tour.

He defeated former UK Open finalist Dennis Smith in the opening round before seeing off Alan Tabern Jnr, Stuart Comerford and Haruki Muramatsu.

A 5-0 win over Darren Place moved him into the last 16 and victories over Simon Stevenson, Ricky Williams and John Goldie secured him his card.

Brooks competed on both the PDC Unicorn Development Tour and Junior Darts Corporation circuit last year and will now make the step up to the senior ranks.
