ROVERS showed a lot of fight again in coming from behind to win at Peterborough, writes Simon Garner.

They are on a really good run at the moment, and that’s down to people performing all over the pitch.

You cannot rely on individuals to get you results, no matter what end of the table you are at.

Bradley Dack was among the goals again with a brace, while Charlie Mulgrew has a phenomenal amount of goals for a centre half.

Both have eight goals, but so too have Dominic Samuel and Marcus Antonsson, so that can only bode well.

You need natural goalscorers, but you also need back-up if they get injured or suffer a dip in form - both of which can happen. Rovers have back-up in abundance, in all areas of the pitch.

Years ago we used to be given targets, not just individuals but also certain parts of the pitch.

The strikers, midfielders and defenders were all expected to get a certain amount of goals, and it really helped the team. It’s a good way to look at it.

I’ve said since the start of the season we’ve got a good enough squad to get promoted - they’ve got the skill and the quality to win matches.

The key thing was getting used to the division, and that is finally happening.

Rovers are a big scalp but they’ve got used to teams trying to upset them and get in their faces.

It’s encouraging, also, that they were so frustrated at shipping two goals on Saturday.

I always fancy Rovers to score, and now and again you are going to make a mistake that leads to conceding. But you want to work on the basic errors so that they don’t let you down.

Attentions turn back to the cup, which in a way is a distraction, but it would be nice to be able to pit our wits against Championship opposition again with a home tie with Hull awaiting if we get through.
