DANNY Graham says Rovers must become more consistent as the season goes on with four wins and three defeats to their name so far.

Rovers’ run of victories was ended at four games by AFC Wimbledon last weekend, with Tony Mowbray’s side looking to get back to winning ways at Shrewsbury Town on Saturday.

They have impressed on their travels, winning each of their last three away games, without conceding, a run they will be looking to extend at the Montgomery Waters Meadow.

But Graham knows that won’t be an easy task against a Shrews side who sit three points clear at the top of League One.

“We are still at that inconsistent position at the minute – we lose two, win four and then lost on Saturday,” Graham said.

“We need to find a bit of a middle ground where we turn some losses in to wins and pick up those extra points to keep that streak of not losing going.

“But we go again on Saturday, we go to Shrewsbury, it’s a big test they’re flying and hopefully we can put it right.”

Graham will be looking to win his place back in the starting line-up, having been used off the bench in three of the last four fixtures.

The 32-year-old scored in the win at Rochdale on September 9, and played the final half hour of Rovers’ last two games. But whoever takes to the field, Graham says they must not take Shrewsbury, or any other team in League One, lightly.

He added: “We have got to respect every team.

“It has shown that if people are up for it more than we are then we will get turned over.

“We need to be ready every game.

“We were bitterly disappointed, winning four in a row you want to make it five, particularly at home, and take that in to the Shrewsbury game full of confidence.

“Hopefully we can kick on again and it’s how we bounce back as players now and our focus is on Shrewsbury and hopefully getting the right result.”

On Graham, Mowbray added: “Taking the last game out of the equation, Antonsson had scored two in two, Samuel had started the season pretty strong and what it has created is competition.

“I have never doubted that Danny Graham can score goals, I have just asked him to work hard to get in to a shape where he can help the team out of possession as well as in possession and he has done without moaning and groaning and worked very hard.”
