BRADLEY Dack may have to bide his time in his wait to become a Rovers regular, but boss Tony Mowbray expects the attacker to become a firm fixture in his side moving forward.

Dack played an hour off the bench in Saturday’s defeat to AFC Wimbledon, having featured in the second half of last Tuesday’s win at Scunthorpe United.

The 23-year-old has started just two of Rovers’ opening 10 matches in all competitions, having been hampered by hamstring injuries.

But the summer acquisition will look to press his claims for a starting spot at Shrewsbury Town this weekend as Rovers look to get back to winning ways.

“Bradley will have to bide his time until he gets an opportunity,” Mowbray told the Lancashire Telegraph.

“I am pretty sure that down the line he will be a fixture in the team but at this moment in time he finds himself trying to impact games off the bench.”

Dack will be one of a number of players under consideration to be included at the Montgomery Waters Meadow on Saturday.

Eight players have started each of Rovers’ last five league games but Mowbray admits he will have to consider changes.

The Ewood boss said it had been difficult to change a winning side, with Rovers having gone in to last Saturday’s game on the back of four consecutive victories.

But having tasted defeat to Neil Ardley’s men, Mowbray said: “We’re very aware that we need to utilise the squad.

“After four wins on the bounce it was very difficult to move it around, playing (Marcus) Antonsson and (Dominic) Samuel had reaped some rewards for us.”

Mowbray had considered making more changes for last Saturday’s defeat, but opted for just the one enforced alteration.

That saw Craig Conway come in for Rekeem Harper on the left of midfield, with the West Brom loanee now sidelined by a hip flexor injury.

Conway was himself only just back from a hip injury, picked in the win over Rochdale, and lasted just half an hour before being replaced by Dack.

“We made the decision with the medical department on Friday that he would be okay to play,” Mowbray explained.

“Ultimately, we found out he wasn’t. It was a frustration for us and he had to come off.”
