BURNLEY head to Anfield tomorrow with Sean Dyche hoping his side can continue to 'enjoy' the challenge laid down at the start of the season by the Premier League's fixture computer.

The Clarets were handed a daunting looking start to the campaign when the fixtures were released in June, facing five of last season's top six in their first five away games of the season.

But so far Burnley have relished the challenge, beating champions Chelsea at Stamford Bridge before securing a draw against Tottenham at Wembley.

Now the Clarets travel to Liverpool, who drew 2-2 with Sevilla in the Champions League on Wednesday under the watchful gaze of Dyche, who was impressed with what he saw.

"They obviously had a tough result last weekend. It was a different kind of result [against Sevilla]," he said.

"I was there (on Wednesday) night, and there were a lot of good things about their performance. They are a good side, without a shadow of a doubt, and they have a lot of strength in depth.

"Our players are aware these are tough places to go to but we have enjoyed the challenge so far this season.

"A lot was made when the fixtures came out - Chelsea away, Tottenham away and now away to Liverpool.

"We have delivered decent performances away from home and we are looking to do that again."

Burnley enjoyed the challenge of facing the Reds last season. Their 2-0 win at Turf Moor in August got the Clarets Premier League campaign up and running, and they led for most of the first half at Anfield in March thanks to Ashley Barnes' goal.

Although Liverpool eventually ran out 2-1 winners on that afternoon Dyche felt his side were probably worthy of a point.

"We gave a very good performance there and probably deserved something from the game, we certainly created enough chances to get something," the Turf boss said.

"But again they found a way to win and that’s what this business is about. The margins are tight and you need to be on the right side of them."

Given the start handed to Burnley you would have got long odds on them heading to Anfield above Liverpool in the embryonic Premier League table.

But they are one place ahead of Jurgen Klopp's side in seventh and Dyche is pleased with the start his side have made to the campaign.

"It’s early yet, we’re not getting too carried away, but for a club of our thinking from the outside it will be deemed a very good start," he said.

"On the inside know what we’re about, we’re capable, but even for us it’s a very healthy start and it’s killed a few of the stories off immediately.

"I heard one of the pundits talk about getting our home form back. We’d only had one game.

"But we’ve already won away, you’ve now got your first win at home, there’s two stories killed off straight away."
