THERE could be an outgoing at Rovers before the transfer window closes on August 31 – according to boss Tony Mowbray.

Mowbray has made nine signings so far this summer, and is seeking further additions before the window closes at 11pm on Thursday.

But he admits there could be a senior player leave before the window closes.

There has been interest in Rovers players throughout the summer, with Rovers having taken a strong stance in regards to the futures of defenders Darragh Lenihan and Charlie Mulgrew - insisting they are not for sale, while they also rebuffed an approach from QPR for midfielder Elliott Bennett.

When asked about the likelihood of a first-team player leaving before the window closes, Mowbray said: “There’s a potential of that.

“I have been talking to one club about a player but it has to suit everyone, it has to suit us, it has to suit the player and we will wait and see.

“Ultimately when the window shuts the loan market isn’t available anymore and you have to try and have things right.

“Generally I want to try and keep a tight group and keep them off the treatment table if we can.

“The Under-23s have started the season pretty strong so some of those, if they are given an opportunity it’s down to them to try and grab it.

“I’m pretty relaxed, we would like to add a couple of players.  If it happens it happens, if not, then we’ll get on with it.”
