ASHLEY Barnes has told Burnley fans he'll be back next season after shrugging off speculation linking him with a move away.

The 27-year-old has been linked with Newcastle and Crystal Palace recently, but Barnes said he was loving life at Turf Moor and had no plans to move away from the club.

Barnes netted six Premier League goals for Burnley this season, taking his top flight tally with the club to 11, and he is three appearances short of bringing up a century of games for the Clarets.

The former Brighton man started 20 league games this season, coming off the bench in a further eight, and he insists he is happy at Burnley and will be back to another tilt at the Premier League when pre-season training resumes in early July.

"Everyone has been linked with someone, you don’t really read into it," Barnes said.

"But for me I’m a Burnley player, I’ve got two years left and I love it here, my family are settled so I’ll be back next year."

Barnes has made Burnley his home since his move from Brighton and he has become an integral part of the dressing room.

Asked if he felt at home at Turf Moor now, he added: "Yeah, definitely. It’s magnificent here, I love it. Playing week in week out at Turf Moor is brilliant.

"I’m a Burnley player and I continue to keep playing for this shirt."

Barnes was a substitue for the final game of the campaign on Sunday, coming off the bench in the Clarets' 2-1 defeat to West Ham United at Turf Moor.

Although he was disappointed to see the season end on with a defeat the strikers said there has been plenty to celebrate this season with Premier League safety secured.

"We set out our goal at the start of the season and that was to stay in the Premier League and that’s happened," he said.

"We wanted to go out on a high but that hasn’t happened. We’ll just come back next year positive again.

"We had chances in the first half, but our main aim at the start of the season was to stay in the league and that’s what we’ve achieved."
