BEN Mee is a doubt for Burnley's trip to Crystal Palace as he continues to battle a shin injury that saw him withdrawn at half-time against Manchester United last week.

But Clarets chief Sean Dyche said Sam Vokes (hamstring) and Scott Arfield (knee) should both be fit for the trip to Selhurst Park, while Stephen Ward should overcome a sore knee to take his place in the side once again.

Mee saw his record as an ever present in the Premier League this season end midway through the defeat to United at Turf Moor last Sunday after succumbing to a shin injury he had been battling.

Vokes and Arfield both missed that game but are back in contention this weekend.

"Vokesy should be fine I think, he's been good on the grass this week," said Dyche.

"Scotty Arfield has as well, Ben Mee we will probably know more on Friday, and Wardy less so.

"Ben is a wait and see, his shin needs to settle. Good so far, and we'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

"Wardy has a sore knee but I don't think it's too serious, it's more of a settling down thing.

"It's more likely he'll be right than Ben. With Ben, it's not a strain, you can't risk a strain, but this type of thing, it depends how he's feeling."

James Tarkowski replaced Mee against United and could fill in again in south London.

"He's certainly someone who wants to play, without doubt, and he's been chomping at the bit all year," Dyche said.

"Yet again, if we need to play Tarky, I'll not be over-thinking that."
