JOHN Coleman will rely on his managerial judgement to get the best out his players, the Stanley boss has revealed.

The Reds have been struggling for form in the last two months and are only out of the relegation zone on goal difference.

Coley insists his players – who have performed well without getting their rewards, especially at home to Plymouth last Saturday – are raring to go for festive fixtures against Grimsby today and Crewe on New Year’s Eve.

And he says he knows that treating each of his squad as an individual is the key to getting them back to their best.

He explained: “I think you’re better off speaking to them individually, because they all have different traits in their personality.

“Some people will be naturally very confident, some people will be naturally aggressive, some will respond to being told something, some will respond to being shown something, some will respond to being put in the situation and having them demonstrate it themselves to get the feel for it.

“There’s all different types of learning and I think that’s possibly where the art of management comes in.”

The Accrington manager is still convinced his side won’t end the season as close to the bottom of the table as they are at Christmas, although he accepts it’s one of the worst runs of his managerial career.

He added: “I’m always confident. I know our team can be as good as any on the day, we’ve just got to make more days.

“We’re not at the stage now where we’ve run out of time but if we don’t get our act together soon, not playing-wise but results-wise, we certainly will run out of time.

“I’ve had runs like this before, not too many and this is probably the worst, but it’s certainly not the worst any of my teams has played for a bank of games. That lends you to think it will improve.”

Coleman revealed he has a couple of January targets ‘over the pocket'.

He will make a late decision on the fitness of on-loan full-back Janoi Donacien, who is returning from a two month injury lay-off.
